Also these are the easiest to get in Poland. Wich one you used and recommed? I like razer one b/c of backlight and few macro keys (bro likes to play cs and macro helps with buying at start). Any help?

I recommend a Filco Tenkeyless because I have a Linear Action USA version (Cherry MX Black) and it's impressive for controlling your macromanagement in Starcraft.

So you recommend cherry blacks for Starcraft? After reading overclock.net thread i see that SS 7G has blacks too. Whats your opinion about it? EDIT: I think i will pick 6gv2, i dont need usb and jacks in keyboard. Also i like media keys and numpad (i have large desk). If you guys recommend blacks for sc2 i stick with that.

6g, 7g and the meka all use black switches. Switch preference is all about what you personally like.
Blues click. Browns have a little bump, but no loud click. Black have neither, and require some more force to press down. I see a lot of people bitching over tired fingers when using blacks, but it requires about the same force as a rubber dome to activate, and you don't have to press them all the way down(and feel waay better than rubberdome).
A little of topic, if your brother plays source, he can use this(add to autoexec.cfg); + Show Spoiler +bind "KP_HOME" "buy flashbang" bind "KP_UPARROW" "buy hegrenade" bind "KP_PGUP" "buy smokegrenade" bind "KP_LEFTARROW" "buy defuser" bind "KP_5" "buy deagle" bind "KP_RIGHTARROW" "buy vest; buy vesthelm" bind "KP_ENTER" "buy mp5" bind "KP_PLUS" "buymenu" bind "KP_END" "buy m4a1; buy ak47" bind "KP_DOWNARROW" "buy awp" bind "KP_PGDN" "buy galil; buy famas" bind "KP_ins" "buy scout" bind "KP_del" "buy m3"

According to your post i started to think about brown switches to have maximum for gaming and typing (thinking about programming for studies). From keyboard company i found Filco Majestouch-2 pretty interesting and it has good reviewes. Website says that flico has blue leds, is it key backlight as in for ex. blackwidow?

It's just saying the led lights for caps, scroll, number lock are blue. I have one and that's what it is.

Removing the numpad has nothing to do with desksize, the purpose is so that kb and mouse can both be in optimal ergonomic positions.
If you place the kb so that your hands are directly in front of you when they are on the home row then if you have a numpad the mouse ends up too far to the right. Most people solve it by pushing the kb to the left but this is obviously not optimal for typing. Without a numpad you get the best of both worlds.

I've used logitech's g11 for a very long time so i got used to big keyboards, think i can handle numpad. So i ended with 6gv2 or flico. Flico has crazy price for me, more than double of 6gv2. Is it worth it?

Hey, question here.
I'm in the market for a mechanical keyboard and i came across the cherry g80-3000. From what i read this isn't the very best there is but i really cannot afford to spend €130 on a Das at the moment, and i can pick up the cherry G80 for about €50 here.
As i understand the G80 comes with different switches, and the type is specified in a five letter code which stands after the 3000. Now i really can't seem to find good info as to each letter in the code exactly stands for. Can anybody enlighten me? I'm looking for blue switches btw.
I found these different g80's:
G80-3000LPCDE-2 G80-3000LQCDE-0 G80-3000LPCDE-0 G80-3000LPCDE-2
I would also very much like to hear any experience with this keyboard. Thanks!

I've seen good remarks about the 6gv2, it's a solid purchase. The Filco is more for the tenkeyless crowd, because of the more expensive purchase.
On the 6gv2, make sure to use the PS/2 port input too for better performance.

Do you have the money to get a Filco? Do you want a Filco? If you do and do, it's worth it. They do without a doubt produce great keyboards. Also they use different leds(for the "...locks", as metioned above). Blue leds for brown swithces, green leds for blue switches and red leds for black switches.

Thanks all for help, i'll stick to 6gv2. I've seen Tarson playing on it so it cannot be too bad

The biggest thing I would make sure you figure out is what switch type you would most desire or suit you. That is the big killer in buying these keyboards. Once you find that out, then just buy one, the bells and whistles attached are pretty nominomal.
I will tell you my experience; have a 7g with blacks and a Das with blues. If you are looking for a keyboard with either a black or blue switchtype, Steelseries (blacks 6vg2 or 7g) and Das (blues but also sells browns) will do you well (out of these 2 I prefer the Das because of the blue switches but again THAT IS MY PREFERENCE); but I encourage you to shop around more just to gather all your options. If you are looking for Browns, while I have no experience with such, I would recommend checking out the Zowie Celeritas, alot of progamers use it (the whole ST team) and it is about $100 which is a pretty good price. If I ever get one with browns, I will get that board. Hope this helped. Remember, it is all preference and be sure to SHOP AROUND.
In conclusion, make sure you get what YOU want and not just what other people have who are telling you to buy things in attempt to justify their previous purchases. Good luck, you will enjoy having a mechanical keyboard no doubt.

While they do use them, don't forget that EG is sponsored by Steelseries themselves. That has to play into it some way. Not saying it is a bad keyboard, but don't just use it because they use it. Get what YOU want.

Thanks snigor! I post the first one twice my mistake. I'll see if i can find the Us layout one somewhere, as i don't want a qwerz board.

Hello all,
I've read the whole thread adn i understand that both zowie celeritas and das keyboard silent s is solid for sc2. Well all mech keyboards sounds decent though. But my question is should i go for the das silent or zowie celeritas? Zowie is a bit cheaper but is it as decent as das? Would appreciate your opinions.
Thanks

blacks are easy to find because of the steelseries keyboards, but i honestly wouldnt recommend them. browns are the safest choice for anyone trying mechanical keyboards. blues are nice if you want a nice *snap* after pressing down the key, as it offers a tactile click.
but blacks... i just cant recommend. try typing on one and you'll see what i mean. they're really heavy compared to other switches. of course, some people prefer that, but i think most steelseries owners wouldve picked something else had they tried all the switches first. its still better than rubber domes though.
after trying black, blue, brown, topre, buckling, alps, red, - i got a red full sized blank leopold. best decision i ever made.

Linear switches (Cherry MX Blacks) make your fingers beastly. They're ideal for MMO's, when you're aggressively spamming, and it's hard to misclick your hotkeys.

For anyone who has a Das Silent, can you share some insight on how it feels and how you like it, and if you would recommend it.

I have a das professional silent. There's actually not much to say. Browns are literally blues without the click and minor click/reset difference points but you really have to try one in store to know if it's for you I'd try some blues first and see if you like the feel before you get browns.. I love mine but you may feel different if you try it.
