Holy shit, seriously. I swear this is like the 5th thread like this.
They're just commentators guys, they're not here to teach you the entire game via commentary. Whatever happened to just watching the games?

The brainless comment was a bit over the top.

The thing is, you see, that everyone in this thread does just watch the games. We're providing our commentators with feedback because we want them to improve. I hope you realize how hypocritical you're being, because you certainly have the very obvious choice not to read these threads if you don't want to.

There is a lack of excitement during casting. I think it comes from a desire to predict the outcome of an engagement before it happens, rather than breathlessly commentating the proceedings.
|
You really need to watch yourself when you are casting games of your friends. Artosis looked really bad when he shit all over that guy Idra played in GSL3 ro64.
Otherwise I think you guys just keep getting better. Tasteless observing is so so much better than when he started in GSL1. Keep up the good work!
|
BTW Artosis if you were giving a shoutout to the "everyone agrees that..." criticism in the Jinro 1match, thank you for qualifying who "everyone" is :D (and for choosing a relatively safe opinion for a peremptory statement, because I would say it's a given that at least many people, especially progamers, think Meta is the best map)

A couple of things I remember from TSL2 about them is that they really lacked insightful talk. Tasteless doesn't really contribute much strategy wise, although I am sure he could. I find Artosis to just not be that enjoyable to listen to because he seems single minded and judgmental in what he thinks about builds, units, and players.
Overall though, I think the biggest issues were going off topic, not being insightful enough, and above all else the premature GGing. In TSL2 I remember in every single game they would say shit like "well its over for X now" "Y should leave the game any minute now" shit like that. When you watched Day[9] and Chill cast it was awesome they played off each other so amazingly, it was funny, entertaining and everything came together perfectly.
I remember a lot of people chalked their shitty performance up to them being on at ridiculous hours to actually cast the games, but apparently that was not the issue. I honestly remember tasteless being a decent caster, but I think Artosis just brings out the worst in him. Well, here is to hoping they can improve, because in their current state I find them unbearable. In TSL2 I never watched any games caste by them because it sucked too much, at least compared to the incredible quality of chill/day[9]
I wish they would cast more games together !

artosis talking about 2 barracks is extremely repetitive and starting to get quite annoying

while the constructive criticism in this thread is insightful, there sure is a lotta pointless trashtalk. tastosis is amazing. they can likely improve but theyre nowhere near incompetent or boring.
at least in my opinion.

production tab should be up by default. other menus only when pointing out something
tasteless should stop apologising so much...
also, when observing feel free to just click on ANYTHING that catches your eye on the minimap, and generally at a faster pace. ITS OK if it turns out to be nothing. for example if u know that a tech choice is being decided on after cybernetics core is completed u can just look at the base instead of at the zerglings chasing down a stalker all the way till it dies. or like if u click on what u think is a drop but is actually... like just a stray overlord THATS FINE just move on to the next area. basically jump around the map more and observe semi like how u would be playing the game, like commentate on the macro/production buildings and try and spot drops more and less only watching fights.

Tasteless have no opinion of his own, which is kinda sad, other then that, i like it
|
They should just set the stream to follow the Korean observer and commentate from there. It would be much easier on Tasteless.

oh and ...
i really like when artosis tells a story about a player based on his expierences on ladder.
i like when artosis gets really excited and giddy about a play even tho he does it alot haha
and i really like artosis and tastelesses joking around both between games and in game
i like when you guys freely share opinions, rather than just commentating on whats happening
|
I feel like th OP would be better off with some positive feedback also. One for me :
+ props for explaining very very basic stuff like what 'micro' is from time to time.
|
Both of them are awesome. Only thing I'm getting tired at is the 2rax talk, boooring, but I can live with that
|
Tasteless doesnt provide any in depth analysis and basically Tasteless just repeats and agrees with everything artosis says
|
Tastosis are amazing, they are super funny, yes Tastosis agrees with Artosis a lot but he's usually right and he's obsing, he's not there for the uber in depth shizzle. Go Tastosis!

I think every problem with Tastetosis would be fixed if Tasteless played SC2 like he used to play BW. That's 100% conjecture on my part, but I get the feeling he's not actively playing SC2.
