While my colleagues and I were wasting our hard earned money on (much too) expensive coffee after lunch, one guy, completely out of the blue, mentions that today the big match between Boxer and Nada takes place. I knew, of course, some didn't, but everybody knew who Boxer and Nada are. Eventually it turned into a discussion about their influence on the SC scene (with a focus on just how young we were when Boxer showed up in his outrageous space suit outfits) and laughed about Boxer vs Yellow (bunker rushing). We talked about the release of SC2, the impact of it on E-sports, and the BW scene. All in all, we spent a good 30 minutes talking about SC. Now, this sort of discussion is common place here on TL... but you have to realize this was a discussion between 28~33 year old men, dressed in suits ... working in the finance industry.. while we stood outside smoking with a cup of coffee in our hands.. and it was completely natural. I hope I'm not giving people the worng impression: SC is still very very much a niche market, you won't find people huddled around the water cooler or coffee machine talking about Nada's tanks or Foxer's marine control. However, I was just surprised at the fact that it is a lot more mainstream than I would have thought. Anyways.. I'll be working late tonight (of course) but I will have GOM running in the background ^^. 임요환 all the way [edit] ok we DID talk about Foxer's marine control. Apparently it was god like?
