So I checked on my order online today (I ordered the overnight shipping option so that I would receive it on release day).

And guess what came up

Did this happen to anyone else?

I ordered this game in APRIL, and they're backordering it now? Whoever else has preordered theirs online on gamestop please let me know if you have the same issue. Problem is I really want the CE, and I really want it for the 25 bucks off I got it for, but if I'm not going to receive it on release date I'm going to cancel the order and just go to a midnight release and buy (apprehensively) a regular edition.

Oh that stinks.

I don't pre-order games as I have a friend who always saves me a copy of games I want, but I hope you manage to get CE as soon as you can

that sucks, Imagine if you go to a midnight launch and you still dont end up with a copy....I imagine it will happen somewhere.

I still can't believe that Starcraft 2 is being released in 3 days.

Fuck Gamestop. A friend made me pre-order with him for the 10% off on order's over $100 and I knew it was a bad idea. What a piece of crap company.

Gonna try and nab a collector's edition on midnight launch.

I have the same status on my order. So I called gamestop to see what was up. I was told that my order for sc2 ce was NOT backordered. That my order had all ready been packaged.

He said its how there computers work. There warehouse is now empty of ce editions so even if they have yours, it will show up as backordered. I suggest giving them a call if you want peace of mind.

A question about that receipt. You said that it you ordered the collector's edition but that doesn't seem to be represented as such?

I would be curious to see if everyone who got the "on-sale" collector's is like-wise backordered. They may be freezing you guys out =/.

Ok so uh....lets see

1) That is the CE don't worry, I used a 25% off coupon for orders 100 and up
2) I did exactly what beefstew just said. And that the computers say its backordered because the game hasn't come out yet. And that when they ship it out, it'll say "Online" instead of backordered.

Yeah I guess I was stressing out just because its the weekend and usually customer service is down on weekends, and I was worried I wouldn't have enough time to order my copy before release date. Thing is I have certain priorities, mostly being A) I get SC2 on release day B) I prefer having the CE. I was hoping to have both, but if my order really were backordered I'd have gone to a midnight release and purchased the regular copy, and then gotten the CE later lol, then I'd be stuck with two copies for 135 bucks, which, in all honesty I don't really mind, its not like it'll destroy me financially, but I wouldn't be able to return the regular copy after I already opened it and used the CD key.

Hopefully it all goes as planned, if it doesn't I'll get pissed, and since I'm the prime sucker for blizzard they will have roped me in for 135 bucks for two copies

Smurf account....or an EU account I guess. Could be worse.

They wouldn't be backordered for the regular edition, only the CE, since almost all the stores have a huge extra supply of regular editions so that they don't run out.

I personally bought the collectors ediiton 3 days ago on the Futureshop.ca website (It's owned by bestbuy, even my credit card payment said to bestbuy when they had 90 copies randomly added onto their stock) It shipped that morning and It's arriving on the 26th. I generally have terrible experience with Gamestop midnight releases and pre-orders. I would stick with walmart or another venue in the future, gamestop really does suck.

anyone know if the "Pre-Order Ship 7-27-2010" means it will arrive on the 27th or out for shipping on the 27th? just wondering since some people are saying certain providers are shipping them already and will arrive on the 26/27

man gamestop is so bad with how they handle pre-orders. over here in the UK, most retailers ship pre-orders a day or two ahead of the release date so it arrives on time. good thing they dont have stores here.
