I am pretty sure that if it were not for all that whining and complaining, Blizzard would never have made all those promises. And even if they already had plans for this (they stated they had none), they certainly raised in priority.

Still though, saying that the features won't be available at release means they have from July 28 to ~infinity to implement these features which could take quite a while .. but it's still awesome ![]()

Only thing that hasn't been confirmed is personal lan option (non tournament based; since you can't practice on LAN at home games might feel completely different latency wise)

Those two specific regions were used because of the question that was asked. Of course they are adding Asia into the equation.

i dont pay for options that are essential. when we start paying for cross... they think they can take money for everything. so in some years they sell each unit alone. and if you dont have enough money you must play without tanks ^^

Well you see blizzard used all the money they got from WoW to build a time machine an go back to retrieve the technology from 10 years ago, its the only explanation! ![]()

The concepts aren't advanced, but producing a network that actually has consistent playable latencies between continents seems to be. Hopefully they can do it right and set up infrastructure for relays. I don't want every third game to have someone from the other side of the world lagging like crazy.

First they said they were working on cross realm, then frank pierce came in and said there will be cross realm and the only way is to buy another copy. And now this blizzard poster says they are trying to integrate it, who the hell are we supposed to listen to now? lol Frank Pierce was misunderstood. He was saying there will not be cross region at release so that to play with your friends from around the world, you would need another copy of the game keyed to their region. He neglected to say that once they add cross-region play you would no longer need to do that. This is the blue-post that addresses it. It is from before they officially announced intentions to add cross-region support, so don't get confused by the wording in the post. It just basically explains that they had no plans to formally support it, so what Frank Pierce said was basically the "workaround' unofficially to achieve it. + Show Spoiler + When you read the Frank Pearce interview you will notice that he didn't answer the cross-realm question the way you try to picture it. He was asked directly about a possibility of playing in different regions. We don't encourage it, it is not meant to be a "money grab" and it is only a possible workaround, as while we don't want you to do it, we also are not going to prevent it from happening. It's not like Frank Pearce said "yes, we give you this amazing opportunity and we have a special promotion for you: when you buy copies for all 3 regions, you will get a 2% discount". In our opinion it is not a good way of experiencing the game, but we are going to pass on your feedback.

It's been rehashed so many times, I don't get how this is "new" news at all.

There is a huge difference between whining and constructive criticism, and this community, the hardcore players, whines way too much, and it really overshadows the small amount of constructive feedback we give Blizzard. To me, at least, that doesn't seem like a good way to conduct ourselves.

Call me pessimistic, but my recent experience with Blizzards failure to even recognize it as important in the beginning to me simply spells out an inability to react properly. When this does happen, you won't like it because it'll break on you, not be complete, cost you money, or one of another host of issues. You think they will make it easy.... ok, optimism, thats not a bad thing.
