I was curious if anyone knows whether or not i could re download the beta and all the patches if i deleted it and re downloaded it from blizzard? Might be a noob question but i wasnt sure if i would be able to re download it all over again if i deleted it as long as i have the beta key. If anyone knows i would appreciate the help, thanks!

Personally you should just try it and see. (I'm not sure though)

Yeah, no reason you shouldn't be able to.

Well I downloaded patch 15 or 16? Anyway the newest one, just yesterday so it should be possible to DL all the patches using just the Blizz b.net auto-update program.
If not: http://www.starcraft2patch.net/ do it manually.

If you want just the Map Editor, I suggest looking for a 3rd party mirror to do so (not sure if these exist, but if they do, they shouldn't be too difficult to find). I doubt you can get just the editor from the Blizzard downloader.

I reinstalled the beta client. It launches the updater but it does not download any patches and lets me launch the game on the original build (Base13891). This is the only one in my Versions folder. I have downloaded all the patches from 1 thru 16 from the above link and the Updates folder just vanishes after I launch the game, and it's still only using Base13891. I also downloaded the latest B.net cache.

You'll have no problem doing this.

Just log into ur battle.net account in your browser, click on SC2 and go to download client.

Run it and it'll download all the patches again - this will take a really long time.

Then when beta comes back online you can sign in just as normal. The account is stored online, not in your game.

Aioncannon - maybe it'll only let you download the patches again once the beta is back up.

I did it a few weeks ago - it's not slow at all, though the patches take a bit longer. Turn P2P off and use HTTP downloads instead... who's seeding now? XD

I did re-install and patch yesterday. There was no auto update for me, so i downloaded the patches. First i patched the 1-8 pack. Then it will download the rest automatically but i had an error with file sizes. So i did the same thing again but befor the auto update i deleted the backup.mpq file and then it worked fine for me.

I have the same problem too. The most likely reason would probably be that the Update servers are down and since those downloaded patch files have to be activated by Blizzard's Updater.

So I guess the only time we'll be able to update now is when the second phase of beta is back.

You can offline patch if you place the update files into the support folder, and then rename the file to "sc2-patch.mpq".Then you start the blizzard updater.
You have to do this for every file afaik.

This is the only way to manually patch correctly from my exp:

i uninstall my game completely i downloaded all patches as we told from here http://forums.battle.net/thread.html?topicId=25170841374&postId=251683269625&sid=5000#0

For each file in each patch, do the following:

1) Move/copy the file to the Support folder in your install folder.
2) Rename it to sc2-patch.MPQ
3) Run Blizzard Updater.exe
4) Delete sc2-patch.MPQ.

shouldn't matter what order you execute these files within each patch version. It's VERY important, however, that each patch is done in order and that you don't miss a file in a patch. If you don't know what you're doing, leave it.

If you re d/l SC2 from blizzard does it give you the most updated version or do you have to repatch from beginning?

It should give you the most up-to-date version.
