This [R&S] is a little late, but after searching for an existing thread and not finding one, I put together one myself. The annual post-proleague tournament hosted by STX is the best opportunity to glimpse the futures stars (and scrubs) of each proleague team. Enjoy!

Players do get KeSPA points because KeSPA referee is there to observe games.

Rigged format for STX. I find it relatively unfair that MBC had to start as 10th as runner ups, but STX gets to start as #1 as winners in a relatively rigged standing.
And Skyhigh wasn't TLPD'ed correctly, just pointing that out.

Oh fine...
I took IdrA off the roster because it caused... false hope, as opposed to... optimism. That was a little hope, a reminder that it's possible for him to play. No way it'll happen though. Apologies.
|
oh noes Idra is gone
|
CJ wants to win. Why would they send Idra out? It only makes sense that he took him off the list.
|
but idra might pull of a 100%winrate GosI[flying]

cant believe that eSTRO is doing this good nowadays.

Pftt, you mean Flying is raping all? eSTRO fails, Flying wins. GosU[Flying] ftw.

Don't worry, stx will get knocked out this year.

They just played the 2 worst teams. It'll be impressive if they get past kt though.
|
tbh im more excited about these exhibition matches than the one sided proleague finals or the (probably) zvz OSL and MSL
im glad they're letting nearly every team play this year
|
My only little thing to bitch about is that the results from 2008 aren't completely accurate - T1 beat KHAN, then lost to MBC before the finals, whereas your portrayal makes it seem like just MBC and STX played again.

It's their league man ... Who would sponsor a league when they knew that they would be eliminated on the first round? lol

This format is so much better than the PL one since it helps avoid mirror matches. Also there is more drama involved imo with having to kill that one good player and knowing who you're up against and on what map before you decide who to send.
|
lol... Jaedong, I mean OZ will win

Not if his recent performances are any indication of his current playing capabilities.

I think he's the best player overall and the format favors him

How prestigious is this tourney? is it always named after the defending champion? whats the prize?

Not very. Isn't recognized by KeSPA.

No, STX runs the tourney.
Not sure about the prize money involved...

The format definitely does NOT favor Fantasy, relative to other S-class players.

agreed, if anything, this format hurts fantasy, who relies mainly on strategic plays and crafty build orders (that he is unable to prepare in an all-kill format, not that he would practice for a tournament like this anyway when he has a bo5 vs jaedong coming up) and helps players who tend to steamroll noobs with standard play (e.g. jaedong flash etc.) basically anyone that had success in the all-kill round of proleague will probably have success in this tournament.
|
I just think Fantasy has this flair though that makes him so exciting to watch. Except TvT. For some reason I don't think his TvT is S class. Either way, I never watched him until his mech game on plasma, and since then he's been one of my favs.
I think it's cuz I thought the valkyrie was the most badass unit when I used to play SC64.

I could have sworn I heard otherwise. :O

I just noticed eSTRO has yet to field UpMagiC.

eSTRO may be tough, but Flash will finger them all while doing a booming all-kill.

Only now i notice that Boxer is on SKT's roster, hope he gets to play.
