come on luxury, you only need to win 2 games. you can do it!
i want some more zergs in the league. zergs always make it fun. tvz and pvz are two awesome matchups.
HiyA is n othing special, but his last TvZ's were solid, he's very good at defending mutalisk harass, but Luxury should still be above him even in his slump. I can't believe I'm still up to actually see a LR thread for a 18:30 game go up.
Lux, you've got this. Bring back your epic play for all of us please.
Torn here between Hiya and Luxury. Normally I'd auto-root for zerg if they're not facing one of my favorite players. But for some reason I find Hiya's look in the booth hilarious(similar feelings for Stork, Magma, and some other players). So I think I'll be rooting for him to move on.

Luxury isn't performing anywhere near his brothers level atm; and as much as i hate lecaf players advancing, HiyA is going to
I agree, looks like HiyA will advance, but its Lux after all, who knows when he will leave his slump~.~
The good things about Zergs is... If they slump and know it, they can still 4 Pool

Geez, what happened to Shuttle? Although his team doesn't help him making lineups often. Maybe in R3.

Here's another VLC stream if anyone needs it: mms://216.121.92.139/ogn_HQ (Thanks to GHOSTCLAW for showing me this one the other night.)
Thanks KreaGata. The Chinese stream actually has Chinese people talking over it this time (the horror) and the other MMS is laggy.
Thanks KreaGata (and GHOSTCLAW then) for the stream. Otherwise, anyone knows if/how we can have the Hanguo screen in fullscreen mode?
Rooting for Hiya just because he is a Lecaf boy (but DAMN! He looks sooo bad!). He is quite underrated because JD an fOrGG overshadow him.
HiyA in the same category as go.go, medicore terran! Nothing special ^ ^
BoraDori showed some promising results last season in PL, but hasn't played much this time round, pretty strange!
Plexa i dont think hiya will advance, theres everychance that shuttle will knock him out and then he has to face lux who has been practicing for this and nothing else Ahh i really dont want to see lux fail
Pretty standard stuff so far from both players. HiyA scouts Shuttle first, and his factory is going up.

HiyA continuing to pump marines, he has 6 now. Shuttle throws down his natural expansion.
HiyA moving out with the marines and a tank!

Hanguo link is incorrect. They only show MBC games, not OGN games.
Shuttle defending easily with three dragoons. Vulture out planting mines near the natural.
Going to sleep, hoping I wake up to Lux advancing.

Shuttle throws down his robo, while HiyA grabs his natural as well.

YoonJoong and Luxury fighting!

Obs out for Shuttle and he does some mine clearing. Haha, he tries to clear a mine up a ramp and continually misses.
Oh god shuttle, that'd suck, he missed that mine like 12 times
wow mine wouldnt die. i thought highground was only 30% missrate
Both players with a good amount of production, looking to get settled in for macroing.

are you kidding me that mine LOL

Scaramanga, I noticed you tended to always post this link in your LR threads, but this only has MBCgame stuff on it, never OGN.

HiyA pushing out with a sizeable tank force!
Battle in the center! HiyA pushed back by a superior force of primarily goons from Shuttle!

HiyA.... what u doing son!?

that was stupid. shuttle didnt pull back -_- or save his probes
Shuttle pressuring the natural, while he rallies zealots to the front.
HiyA sneaks some vultures into Shuttle's main and gets a good amount of probe kills.
Lots of damage dealt to HiyA here..
HiyA forced to float his natural CC while Shuttle comes knocking at his front door again.
HiyA with a few tanks en route to Shuttle's base at 5.
Shuttle's got about a ~50 supply advantage here.
both of these players are quite bad -_-
this should've been over long ago, but shuttle keeps suiciding his units into mines for no reason
I'm cheering for Lecaf, but HiyA is disappointing me with his play so far. Come on man, I thought you were better than this
Shuttle tries to flank with a control group of goons, with little effect. HiyA continuing to push forward with his force
why would hiya push here? you are behind, you can defend an additional expo rather easily, i realize he doesn't want shuttle to take the whole map but eh..
Hiya, I am disappointed !
The big battle happens! HiyA caught a bit out of position and zealots get all up in his mix.
HiyA GGs after the battle is lost, Shuttle up 1 - 0!
Was that... That fucking pokemon fish thing? on his cheerful?
Haha, did anyone else catch that pokemon fish cheerful in Hiya's booth? It looked exactly like him!
EDIT: Got beaten to it TT

Yup.. Magikarp
Hiya has very horrifying play, the final battle was a D+ level battle of a bad placement of tanks against many zealots
Yeah... Pretty abyssmal showing from HiyA so far. Just really poor decision making and execution on his part.
I guess somewhere behind the scene, fOrGG is appalled. Seeing his training partner play like THIIS. Wow. Epic failure. I miss yesterday's games
If somebody wants to take over the LR that'd be great, I might be a bit occupied for a bit.
I hate these long breaks between games
losing on tears is even worse when game 2 is on medusa :/
I'll give LRing a try, Medusa Hiya @ 11 Shuttle @ 7 Both opening standard, hiya is mining his minerals near his temples, shuttles opened one gate core

Look at Forgg's recent TvP stats. I dont blame Hiya for playing like shit they dont have any toss practice partners. Lecaf's vP is on decline since Anytime left and HIya has no P practice partner other than backho who in the hospital right now.
First fac down for hiya, second gate is down for shuttle Zealot made first for shuttle but hiya is walled in so it isnt gonna do much, CC goes down for hiya, scv gets killed off before it could scout shuttles base

Shuttle going for bulldog
A few goons and a lot doing some harrasment on hiya's wall, nice work by hiya keeps his wall alive just, cc floating over to his nat Shuttle going for a bulldogg it seams, hes got the shuttle and is pumping goons hard, yep lots into the shittle here we goooo Hiya scouts it and here comes the shuttle, the only seiged tank gets sniped but theres not enough goons and hiya cleans it up just losing alot of shit
If anyone else wants to LR because im not to good at it Shuttle going for the reaver, goon elevator sexy move which all protoss do on this map, Shuttle snipes the tanks on the low ground maches his goons down and kills all of hiyas tanks Shuttle has 2 goons reaking havoc on hiya's base its gonna be gg pretty soon
It looks to me like shuttle cut some probes for this. Am I just crazy?
ironically shuttle seems to have forgotten about his shuttle
Hahah shuttle has one goon above hiya's ramp picking scvs, hiya held his base but has no army now because of shuttles nice harras, shuttle expoing to the back of his main Shuttle has 2 shuttles now , fly's into hiyas main and drops a few goons + lots + reaver and kills alot of scvs, nice micro with the reaver and hiya is screwed, reaver picking off shit in the main and shuttles running goons in the front
hiya throwing away vults just when he needs an army
Hiya has nothing now, few vults running around trying to harras but his scv count is so low and he has no army to counter push, the hiya is at 42 supply while shuttle is at 100 :| Shuttle is taking 5 while macroing up a nice force, hes just bootin round defusing mines and doing some harras, Hiya's nat had not turrets so shuttle fly's his 2 shuttles in and picks off the lone defending tank, goons streaming into hiyas base this is gg
Shuttle wins 2-0
Hiya gg's as goons break into his base, he wasn't even close.Easy 2-0 for Shuttle.
HiyA bitch slapped % %
gg!
luxury vs Shuttle!
Sexy PvZ coming up hopefully!
WTF was that HiyA... Good play from Shuttle though.
A must watch game. Now I won't do 1gate expo on medusa anymore - why when I can overwhelm terrans from only one base?
lol Luxury checking out the video feedback loop in the TV

It's nice to see Shuttle do something outside of GOMTV S1 to prove he's not a one-shot wonder.
That being said, I have yet to liquibet a single point this season. -_-

I like Shuttle. He plays pretty decent. Didn't do too bad in the first GOM season, either.

Shuttle was pretty sloppy both games but insane aggression, something I love to see, you dont see Protoss playing this aggressive vT these days. Both played pretty bad and Yoongjoong forgot about his shuttle even but he played it to what he had with a dual drop bull dog style, sexy play.
I honestly thought Hiya's TvP was better than this. Even if Medusa is a TvP graveyard, losing on Tears of the Moon is quite unacceptable.
don't know what you guys are saying, I found yoonjoong's play very inspired, precise, well executed and collected overall.
game 1, he defended the first attack outstandigly well with 2 and later 3 dragoons losing pretty much nothing while killing everything. from there on it was a big uphill battle for hiya, he tried to harass here and there but didn't achieve much
game 2, well the map pays off aggressive play for pvt and yoonjoong did a very good job
too bad, i wanted hiya to win so that I could see some tvz today. oh well..
First FE we've seen from Shuttle tonight and it's PvZ on tears of the moon...? Odd choice..
shuttle going for fe, lux 9 pooling
thanks for the LR guys, keep it coming!
3 hatch really early for lux, gogo savior style and make tons of lings
Shuttle going quick stargate, only 1 cannon protecting his nat. Luxury going lair on 3 bases right now.
Luxury going to try to runby with lots of lings.
lux went for runby, gets the 2-3 probes blocking the ramp only, though. 3rd hatch up at 12 oclock expansion. shuttle pushing to that expansion with 3 zealots, gets intercepted by a lot of lings. Lux looks to be going for massive ling flank on shuttles' nat.
very nice probe use by Shuttle there.
Oh shit, Luxury busts through the cannon. Shuttle bringing out all the probes.
GG from Shuttle. Bad idea to fast expand with so little protection.
lol lings break the cannons, probes get owned and its gg
Oh god, gg, it was the maps fault wasnt it bisu?
Pretty straightforward game there, 3 hatch ling overwhelming an under-defended protoss.
Just curious. Has any protoss actually used FE and NOT get raped on Tears of the Moon?

Yeah, I'm wondering if Shuttle has even bothered to watch any of the other PvZ games on this map so far because it didn't seem like it there. Luxury didn't even have to make use of the second entrance to win that..

I would say that's limited to this map. Other maps it's fully viable if the zerg plays greedy and you build a great simcity. But scouting probe must be alive constantly scouting.
i think game was decided when he lost 3 zealots needlessly and then had nothing left to defend and gave free entrance to the lings. he must have expected more drones and less lings early on.
ok the map is harder
but maybe if he actually TRIED to defend when he FEs instead of running his zealots out to get killed and then only having one cannon he would have been able to defend that
It's a typical greedy protoss play that gets exploited, this wasn't about the map, this was just playing like an idiot

In the case you didn't, Luxury only came from one side and at first couldn't attack the one existing cannon with more than 1-2 lings at once. It would've worked on any map with a decent choke.

Luxury booth girl...*drool*
A lot of recent maps have pretty narrow chokes so that 2 zealots and 3 probes can hold out for quite a bit.
Tears of the Moon not only has the back entrance, but even the front entrance is ridiculously wide, preventing a full block by just a couple of units.

Luxury spawning at 10, Shuttle warping in at 7 on Medusa.

This game is so WEIRD. Shuttle building a pylon at the back of lux's expansion...gonna build cannons there too...5 lings in shuttles main...wtf...

Really bizarre game so far! Very entertaining, nonetheless.

What does my protoss icon have anything to do with it? I'm just responding to you saying that Luxury's tactic would've worked on most maps, when it's obvious that Tears of the Moon is an exception to other recent maps. Hence, there is some map factor involved.
Of course, this doesn't mean that Shuttle wasn't an idiot, because he should've either gone one-base strategy or build a ton of cannons if he wants to FE on the map.

Neither player is too economically sound. Luxury going for spire, and has Shuttle contained with lings. Shuttle just getting first assimilator up.

there must be a way to pvz on tears. Stork, Kal and Free will come up with it.
I'd like to ask a question. How much damage done after 5pool is enough so that you're still ahead if you go overlord -> a few drones -> expand to nat? He didn't seem to do that much and was still way ahead. For example, if you get 2 cannons and defend with probes for a while, and the Z kills maybe 5 probes, is the Z ahead?

yes won 1 game against an average progamer Z with 4 gate push. But against high tier Z such pushes will be defended. Still not enough to convince.

Sorry, I misspoke when I only talked about the width of the entrance. But rather, what sets Tears of the Moon apart is rather the location of the expansion, which prevents the protoss from funneling all units to a single choke. Maps like Destination may have wide chokes, but you can cut off one side so there's only one point of defense.
You can't do that with Tears of the Moon because then you won't be able to protect the expansion AND prevent the runby up the ramp at the same time.
Edit: Want to add that I have no clue what the "optimal" FE positioning is for this map, so I could be wrong. Just commenting on what Shuttle did. Probably the optimal FE position hasn't been invented yet, or doesn't exist.

That seems really stupid on his part if so, what the hell else does the guy have to practice for if not the OSL?... welcome to romania, to the left you see the world trade center, one of the most famous landmarks of this small european country.

There is no map preview for obs maps -__-. And he already played vs Hiya on the same map and Shuttle used same FE sim city as bisu cept later 2nd canon.

Seems like he'd have had some use for the map preview to be honest...

That was totally uncalled for.

I'm terribly sorry if my perception is not up to your standards. He played like garbage in those games so I wouldn't have had a hard time believing it was his first time on them.

wtf guys, these are progamers, they play for 8-12 hours a day. Do you think they are playing sunken defence in that time or what? You can be pretty sure that every progamer has had a ton of games on all current league maps...

He's welcoming you to Romania because he's from romania and regular non-romanian people don't get his logic.
On another note, I don't get why Protosses complain so much about FE on that map. Silver once said "FE is a privilege, not a right." Now it may not necessarily be a privilege, but it's a trade-off. If it's a bad trade, then don't do it.

I don't want to derail the thread so I'm not going to get sucked into a long argument here, but in response to this:
"Seriously?" usually denotes skepticism or disbelief. I only considered it because he seemed to have absolutely no idea what he was doing against Luxury so I was wondering if he might not have had time to practice the map because of something else that I wasn't aware of (Winners' League, personal issues, etc.). That's all I'll say on the issue.

Zergs can never have enough free wins. I would say that's limited to this map. Other maps it's fully viable if the zerg plays greedy and you build a great simcity. But scouting probe must be alive constantly scouting. Did you watch the game? In the case you didn't, Luxury only came from one side and at first couldn't attack the one existing cannon with more than 1-2 lings at once. It would've worked on any map with a decent choke.
The conditions I attached to my assertions are enough. With great simcity, such as one on bottom side of destination, you can literally stop an 3 hatch amount of lings with 2 cannons. The forge, gate, zealot(s), nexus, pylon(s), probes and cannons (2-X) is enough if you KNOW what the zerg is doing.
Fact that toss lost three zealots almost immediately before ling attack didn't help either.
