every terran is just going to get restore (its cost in min/gas and mana is negligible) in response, parasite won't change much. hwasin was an idiot not to get restore in this game.

Well, maybe he did. We just don't know, but I didn't see any more parsited units after awhile.

I doubt it, with overlords all over the map it's really not that useful. It's just a nice extra for when your queen has energy to spare, and I doubt queen usage becomes the new big thing in ZvT.

Guys they don't only practice against their team-mates progamers practice with people from all teams.
i was under the impression for proleague they usually only practice vs their team, since its every week and all good pros have to practice for it, and they are directly or indirectly competing against each other through matches and standings
but for big individual series (OSL or MSL etc) they sort of branch out more to non-teammates?
or am i totally off
I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not but I am near certain that most players would practice outside of their own team as well because it is more beneficial for everybody.
i'm being serious, i'm wondering if they mostly practice inside their teams for proleague and only practice outside their teams for individual leagues. i'm not sure if this is the case but it makes sense.
i mean if i were the coaches i would not want my players helping other teams succeed in proleague, that's just bad for your own team. you are competing against them for playoff spots, you don't want other teams to do well at the expense of your own players time even if they aren't directly playing vs your team.
But it would explain why the zergs on SKT are so bad because their best players are choosing to practice outside of the team so that they can get something out of it.
For example I think Jaedong mass practicing against backho would have about as much benefit as him playing against the computer just as much.
hehe i think their zergs are bad because their zergs are bad. they have bisu but i suspect practicing against bisu (playing like bisu) doesn't help you that much, his style is so distinct from other PvZ that if they practice with him, they probably just make him play more "standard" PvZ in which case he's only marginally better than a regular "good" PvZ player.
i think you're overestimating the difference in practice between someone like backho and someone like bisu. the player who is practicing just needs someone to play standard or try out different strategies to test the build he is doing for a very specific match on a specific map. i doubt they are playing a lot of long, standard games but rather its very narrowly tailored to the situation that week, to test timing and scouting of everything they can anticipate, etc. in this sort of environment it makes much more sense that they don't need a top flight player to practice against (that and the team-interest considerations, you don't want to improve standings of other teams for playoff spots and waste your own precious practice time).
in a bo5 series practice though, its different. not as specific or focused, and no team obligations. that might explain why they go out of their own team to find players to practice against. the more i think about it the more it makes sense that they wouldn't practice outside their team for proleague. it just doesn't make sense from a self-interest standpoint, not to mention the time constraints for the good players they would ask (who have their own PL matches to train for).
This is a very good point and I have to agree with you now.
I love that Jaedong is finally playing Queens. It's one of those things about Starcraft that everyone argued about but nobody could prove would or wouldn't work at a pro level until it finally happened. I've always felt that the Queen was a Zerg revolution waiting to happen and somehow suspected that Jaedong just may be the kid to do it. He's certainly been schooling Terrans with them lately, it seems.

he has only "schooled" 1 terran with queens...
and that terran is fantasy.
that isnt enough times to be confirmed as revolutionistic in any manner. against hwasin he used queens, but even when he landed an ensnare on hwasin in a battle, hwasin still managed to kill enough of jaedong's forces to make their losses even.

JD would've lost more forces during the initial break @ his nat due to the unensnared firing speed of units being higher than the ensnared ones. Recently, he has + Show Spoiler +
schooled Skyhigh on Byzantium with the most potent use of ensnare I've seen so far.

There was also Skyhigh in the MST and July used the build vs Firebathero in the Proleague last week.

wtf are you talking about. ensnare alters movement speed not firing speed.

Really? Jk, This isn't surprising since ensnare is not an often used spell, but ensnare also reduces the firing speed of most units, including marines. 'wtf are you talking about?' The truth.

dude thats not true...
Ensnare Ensnare 100 100 Cost: 75 Energy Range: 9
When a Queen uses its Ensnare ability, a web of sticky green fluid is ejected over a small area, affecting all units caught beneath it. The affected area covers a 4x4 matrix and lasts for approximately 40 seconds. Once a unit is caught by an Ensnare, its movement is cut in half. Note that this ability is indiscriminate in its effects and you can potentially get your own units caught.
As an area effect ability, Ensnare is useful for slowing down tightly packed groups of units, giving you the battle advantage once you confront the affected group. The best time to use this ability is just before a battle and the better prepared you are to take advantage of the after effects, the better.
One of the most useful properties of an Ensnare is that it can reveal and affect any cloaked units caught within the web. The best way to catch cloaked units is to watch for the slight visual distortion that a cloak field generates and cast the Ensnare over the area that the cloaked units appear to be in. If it looks like the cloaked units are moving, lead the Ensnare casting to where the units will be once the web takes effect and the results will generally be more favorable for you.
To further increase your advantage after revealing cloaked units with an Ensnare, use Parasite on the Ensnared cloaked units and you'll be able to eliminate any advantage that unit might've had with its cloaking
no were does it say it decreases firing speed.
edit: nvm blizzard didnt say anything about it there but it does for some units some not.
