iccup is very good practice now that they have lan lat, A- and up koreans were almost all at least semi pro last season, everyone on estro B team has accounts and plays pretty actively. its essentially the same as playing on west with people from other pro teams once you get to the high ranks.

Yeah, I played some really high APM players this last week. A 350 APM Terran. He had a high hotkey percentage, so he may have just been a spammer, but he was pretty l33t in my books. Then again, pretty much everyone pwns me, so I'm not a good judge of skill.
I think I'm gonna wait a bit till all the gosus climb up the ladder. Getting facestomped is fine, but when you open the replay and the dude has 300+ APM it's kinda crazy.

Was playing a lot of games last night and I played a korean named JiEungSunG. He is Z in the replay and rapes me with mutas with an apm of 326. I didn't think much of it until today when I looked at his profile he is 32-4 total, currently C, and is 15-1 zerg / 5-1 protoss / 12-0 terran (two losses where the replay doesn't have stats for him and doesn't know his race but is counted as a loss for him overall and he loses points, whatever this means). iloveoov had an account last season, so I wouldn't be surprised to see playing again. And DeathTray, yes, it's not uncommon for several Korean pro's/semi-pro's/amateurs to own accounts on iCCup, but if anything it'd be nice to know who the pro's are just so you can play them, not to avoid them.

from what i hear hes cheesing vs all zergs since his tvz is horrid, if you look at his matchlist he winds up playing the same people over and over, but I guess at a high rank early in the season its difficult to find opponents. However, I definitely would not put some form of cheating past lastshadow, especially after his blatant cheating with kawaiirice in wcg qualifiers.

I said somewhat-known. I was not implying he was a household name. I'm not expecting someone to interpret when I said "somewhat-known" because it is such a loose term, especially when people can take it many different ways. If you wanted me to define what I meant I'll be happy too, because I know that was quite stupid of me to put a word out there for everyone to make assumptions off of.
He has put participation into Starcraft in many areas. By "many" I mean he has done more than the average Starcraft player that plays on a server, maybe joins a clan, and could participate in ICCup if they feel saucy. If he was on the management team of a clan, he would most likely be known by the players on his team as well as other teams if he is helping the clan during clan wars, or any other areas that he may have participated in. I'm sure you've been through lots of clan wars being a high caliber player yourself, and usually you can remember the good (or bad) experiences you had when the other team's admin had to set up the draw or work through some hard points. I've been through a few seasons of WGT CL and I must say the most memorable moments besides how good (or bad) we did is the fact that there were some hardships with the admins who could not speak english when we overcame a problem with the rules. I also remember the admins of other teams who were very GM and worked with us if we needed to delay a match or two. These simple things can just stick to our memory, since managers and anyone who helps the clan progress through matches and organization are an important part of the Starcraft community. It is examples like these that just stick with the players, that remain in the memory.
It can be different for everyone else, but I'm positive you agree with me that these people get more respect and have a more known name good or bad than someone who just plays on the east server with friends.

it doesn't really matter that you dont know how many koreans he played at the D -> B- level..... Just know that in the last 45 or so games, around 30 of them were against koreans. There aren't a huge number of foreigners at B who play games regularly, and fewer at B+, so I imagine he just games anyone who is around at a particular time.

3 idle scvs for about 10 minutes and an idle expo. He had an expansion completely idle the entire game, he could've gotten alotttt more minerals from it maybe if he wasn't such a high rank this would be okay but I'd expect more from him.

@sylonto: The day yosh played these games he commented on how he had to rebalance his scv load better, so he's well aware of this and is fixing it. In general, I'm pretty sure B and above players know damn well the little mistakes that they need to fix in order to move higher.
Another point, the fact that he was able to beat JF without as easy of a thing as sending scvs to new expansions also shows the strength of his overall game sense, which is 100000x more difficult to excel at. Any D player can send workers to expansions on time, but can they still win if they do it? Now forgetting to send your workers to expansions on time, but still winning is something that is way more difficult (relying on micro, game sense to cover up your macro)

When I played him his control didn't seem very good at all, his split was perfect and all but his mutas weren't that of a Pro for sure, and he almost lost his first overlord and a few lings early. Maybe he's just a really fast amateur or spams too much for his own good.

Im actually going to retract my statement that its him. It still could be him but ive looked through a lot of jaedong reps and noticed a bunch of differences.
JD hotkeys his larva almost every game and morphs it into an overlord. Arts also hotkeys his overlord to 2 every game, JD uses it for his hatchery most of the game. Also i shouldnt have dismissed the absence of missing spare hotkeys.

I played that guy in a PvP on Tau Cross, I honestly have no clue what happened that game. He just totally destroyed me though, it's not even worth watching because it only lasted like 5 minutes.

Zerg always have more losses than terran/protoss, the minerals/gas doesen't really seem that off either, and it is possible to win games without killing any buildings. Just like Parkmoonki or w-ever his name was, also had far less points than his opponent in games he won. So I dont think ppl should judge games just from game score.

Yes. If you say he is "mid-level" then he is definately cheating, getting some korean to play. I have seen several reps of his PVT and he has superior multitasking/macro/micro... I watched a game on bluestorm around C+ level where he tried proxy in base..and it failed, and he still micro'd and worked his way to somehow be ahead and then out macro'd the terran and harass'd him with reaver and ground units while expaning,teching to carrier and out macroing him on ground units. It was REALLY nice play, far above what I would consier "mid level"

I usually don't like to accuse people of hacking but...
That was some of the most OBVIOUS hacking ever.
He doesn't scout in the beginning yet puts up two cannons before Nexus when the Zerg does like an overpool.
He never Probe scouted, and never used any observers to scout expansions. He just hit almost everyone mid-late game right before it finished.
He doesn't make observers for like 12 minutes in the game without even seeing the Zerg tech, so he has no clue if the Zerg has Lurkers or not.

Terran lost 1 building, BMK lost 18.
The Terran has more resources collected with much more minerals and a little less gas. But the kicker is that, at the end of the game, BMK has 700 resources (mins + gas) and the Terran has 3700.
So basically, Terran left the game with a 100 supply advantage and 3700 resources in the bank. In my opinion, it'd be absolutely amazing if that wasn't abuse. These numbers are just too extreme.

Your allowed to play vs people like 15 times because its hard to find A rank people, and for him im sure its harder to find Z's since it seems he is practicing zvz only. LEAVE THE MAN(GIRL MAYBE?!??!) ALONE!

The absolute most difference I've ever seen between the winner and the loser was 20k. Where the loser was like 150k and the winner was 130k. I would seriously love to see that game, especially if it wasn't an abuse game as I can't think of a possible scenario where a 50k difference would happen.

i dont think you get it. iccup admins have no instant way of knowing if he's abusing, so he wouldn't necessarily already be banned. i've been filled with awe and respect at his record and his amazing zvz and not hating at all. when i do an analysis of the game stats, i have no emotion about it, neither hate nor respect. i was just seeing if the numbers add up and they really dont

I dont know if I would call what hes doing abusing. Abusing to me is having other people lose to you so you can gain rank. What he seems to be doing is just asking anyone he loses to to give him the win because he has a perfect rec.

Believe it or not, but there are actually people that don't give a toss about their win/loss ratio or rank. The only reason to rank up for them is to play better players consistently, play some high quality starcraft and improve their game.
And when a skiller like this meets a guy that does go for rank, and has 99% success rate, I don't see a reason why he should make a big deal from letting the rank hunter win if he/she asks nicely...

A friend of mine just told me he heard something about games that were played vs people from the same IP address. Admins had asked him for replays but he didn't send any, so he got banned.

anyway, season ends tomorow. It's been a good season imo, skill level has been so uber high. I unfortunatly didn't manage my personal goal of C+ . Anyone else set themselves personal goals and do it/fail like me?
edit: i was wrong, there's like 3 days left of season

If you're playing vs someone with the same IP Address as yourself there is a few assumptions as to how that is.
1. You're playing on a home network with a friend whose playings vs you.
2. You're running multiple Starcrafts on the same computer using the same IP Address hence giving yourself wins.
And yes you can be banned for that if the admin/s feel that is necessary and is appropriate for that matter.

seems like some people are misunderstanding the difficulty involved in getting 'good' stats on iccup. at the end of the season im sure there are hundreds of no name koreans not on teams that can go 75-10 to a-, the chances of him being flash/jaedong/anyone on a pro team are so small.
Gotta keep in mind top foreigners can get 80-10 basicly.
edit - although they are prolly going against harder opponents, koreans seem to be slightly better with similar stats on iccup, so it might be someone good.

Well the thing is there is a large population of Koreans in Australia because of an immigration in the 1960's.
On another note does anyone know who the hell KespaTop is. That guy is so fast at making units I don't understand how he loses. He like maxed out in 12 minutes with 4 bases with Terran.
