What's the point of rank constraints? What's the point of the new ICCup system at all then? Yeah, after Season 36, ranks don't matter. The new iCCup system is to encourage a high number of games played on the server. You simply rank up by playing a lot of games, which no longer reflect skill level at all. D- and B+ are equivalent. Your B+/A- is equivalent to a D-, haha.
What a loser. I hate you.

Although the poster above only has 1 post, I've played 5-6 games against him and he is C+ I'm just saying this in case posters might think its a bit fishy that a 1 post account is trying to join the league.

If someone was stuck at D- from seasons 1-35, they can now hit B+ or even A- with enough games played. B+ players are encouraged to play against D ranks or even E rank 1 pointers.

I do find that C/C+ is a bit harder then before but it also depends who you play.I'm C+ right now and I don't play D people. I actually have the range limit set to 2000 minimum and 6200 maximun. I've played a bunch of pretty good C/C+ people who only play other C/C+/B- players.
People use to abuse like crazy with the old system playing D/D+ when they were C+ but it is a bit easier (and encouraged just like your post says) then before.

There's ALWAYS going to be people trying to work the system. That doesn't invalidate someone else's hard work. There are extreme examples, like Julia getting A+, but generally, most of the people I know of are still around where they were before unless they're somehow convincing D players to give them games.
Simply put: if someone wants to bash noobs to get a high rank and feel fuzzy inside about themselves, good for them, but now they shouldn't be playing a D-C rank team league. I do not care if someone "hit B- under new system, but is actually C-", because that is a lame-ass excuse. They can play in the big league when that comes back around.
Stop trying to have your cake and eat it too.

Even mishin hit C-. Wow I truly missed a lot while I was away
How does the new iCCup system work such that B- == D-? And such that mishin hit C-?

On November 01 2015 08:11 Birdie wrote:Wow I truly missed a lot while I was away How does the new iCCup system work such that B- == D-? And such that mishin hit C-? There is probably a page on the website that explains the exact exchange rate of points, but an anecdotal example is I have a D- account and I beat a C player and got 125 points, whereas he lost 62 points. The other games in which he beat me, he gained 75 points and I lost 37.
So basically it seems that now instead of D-/D/D+ being separate ranks with separate point barriers, they just lumped all of D together so it doesn't matter if you beat a D- or a D+ player, you will get the same amount of points.
So, in the past if you were D+ and you beat a D player, you would get 75 points. I think it was what, 67 points for if you beat D-? Now it's if you are C+ and you beat a D- player, you get 75 points. If you are B, you get 67. Same applies to losing points; in the old system a D+ would lose as many points to a D player as you would now as a C+ player losing to a D- player.

The new system makes it easier to level up. But that almost means it's easier for abusers to level up, so on paper, a D+ person could get to B+ by bashing D-. Even though that happened under the "old system" quite a bit, now it's more of an issue because iCCup is so severely undermanned that they cannot handle the reports of abuse, or process ladder reports.

Alright, for some reason I can only access TL.net for a few minutes and it keeps crashing. I'll update the thread tomorrow and give a more official statement on specific players, but as of right now the tiered format will be as follows:
D+ cutoff <map A> D+ cutoff C- cutoff<map B> C- cutoff C cutoff<map C> C cutoff C cutoff <map D> C cutoff C+ cutoff <map E> C+ cutoff
We feel that this format will be the most balanced as it doesn't favor any one team. These match ups are listed as 'cutoffs' because, for example, teams are allowed to place a D rank player in any tier, but they can't place a C+ player in a tier below the C+ player cutoff.
Hopefully everyone can elaborate on this format and trade players if need be.
Also, as of right now, players that have achieved above C+ on iCCup at ANY point in the history of iCCup are not allowed to play in the league. This seems harsh, but it's done to maintain what little balance is left in the league. In retrospect, I might have gone about this differently before I had this many people sign up, but this is the way we're moving forward. This does in fact make Talent eligible for the league. Once again, I'll add players to the OP free agent list tomorrow when I get off work.
Lastly, after much consideration, Jealous has been made officially eligible for the league. I want to state that I have never experienced any issues with him as a player or person, but I do understand his past in other leagues. He recognizes his past actions as mistakes and looks to right his wrongs in this league. I trust him as we move forward, and he knows better than anyone that we will be watching his actions as we proceed.
+ Show Spoiler +While I have everyone's attention, my team is still currently recruiting players. PM me!

I guess Stealth Bunnies had better recruit more C's because 6/10 of our team is competing for that one D slot.

That format favours any teams with a lot of players who are at least C- or C max, we have like 6 D- players in sB who would struggle against D+ let alone C-, C, and C+ (which is 4/5 slots in the lineup). It would be much better, in my personal opinion, that there be only one, maybe two slots for any C ranks at all (one for C-, one for C+) and the rest be just any D ranker.

Obviously that would be better for teams who have a lot of D players and not many C players. However, it would be terrible for teams with few D players and a lot of C players.
No matter how you slice it, there's going to be people who either won't get to play more than 1/2 games a season because they are on a team with 5 C/C+ players, or people who will get crushed by their opposition because they will be D level players filling C level positions. The important factor to consider, in my opinion, is that D players can play above their rank whereas C players cannot play below; the D player can still get a game that they prepare for and can analyze after with their teammates. Limiting it to one slot for C is absurd, but even two would simply be too few.
If I were to suggest a compromise, it'd be 1 game for each of the following max ranks: D, D+, C-, C, C+ or below. That way it encompasses all the available ranks in this league (because it is impossible to be D- max).
However, I don't think that it is our place to push for changes. At the end of the day, this was advertised as a D/C league, and that is who is going to be playing. As the players with the lowest skill in the league, any D- player joining this should not have come in expecting to win games, but to benefit from the experience of team play, training, practice, and MU/map practice. Just my two cents.

Unfortunately not a lot of D's (20 or so) signed up compared to C's (around 40). There wouldn't be enough players to have 4 D slots and 1 C slot. It would be nice to have 2 D slots as there is a significant difference between D's and D+'s (nevermind D-'s, but Stealth Bunnies is the only team with D- players, so it's hard to have a separate D- slot, despite how big the skill difference is from a complete beginner and a mid range D. Although, I think in the past, it was a D slot versus D+ slot, cutting the D+'s out gave midrange D's a chance even if it was still rough for D-'s). But I think you'd be hard pressed to have more than 2 D slots given the number of people that signed up.
Weird team distributions are going to mess with whatever format is decided. With this format, if all the D's were evenly distributed, each D could play every once every third week (assuming weekly play days), but because SB has a third of the D's, we'll play once every six weeks. Assuming even distribution in the C's, in this format, they should play play twice every three weeks. Whereas SB's C's will play every week, but the Gladiators, who have 1/4 of the league's C's, will play twice every five weeks and will get worse if C slots are dropped. Pretty hard to get around team compositions however you deal with it.

I'd like to add sB.SpongeBOZZZ (C+ max) to Team Stealth Bunnies.

Shimy, I know this would be just little thing, but can you change (DESPA) Miso's race from zerg to protoss? I just don't want to cause any problems later on. thanks!
