I just made a tournament for lower ranked people and it turned out most of the interested audience was C ranks. The format being decided upon will not reward teams that have only C ranks. People may whine about who gets to play and who doesn't, but the only outcomes are: 1) Only D rankers: Maybe 3 teams sign up? 2) D ranks and C ranks: Our current position 3) All ranks: Who the heck knows. You simply rank up by playing a lot of games, which no longer reflect skill level at all. D- and B+ are equivalent. | ||

If it's impossible to differentiate between former C- players who are still C- (by the old ranking) and C- players who are now B- players (again, by the old ranking), then rank restrictions have become irrelevant. People who might still qualify for the tournament based on skill are disallowed because they are active and have hit B-, people who would not qualify based on skill are allowed because they aren't active enough. I guess it's the same issue as in prior leagues, just with another wrench thrown in the works. It just all seems so goddamn stupid :/ EDIT: @Yaqoob: If he was being sarcastic, I didn't get that impression. Hyperbole maybe (D- and B+ being equivalent, obviously an exaggeration). But the truth is the new system IS skewed, no? Ranks have been inflated? Even mishin hit C-. | ||
