After advancing to the Quarterfinals of the Pringles Season 2 MSL, Boxer has forfeited his spot. The quarterfinal rounds are not scheduled to end before Boxer's scheduled enrollement (October 9th).
This will affect the tournament in the following ways: 1. The winner of Group B will be the winner of the Nal_Ra vs Silver match. The victor will be considered first place of Group B 2. The Second Place of Group B will be determined by a Wild Card Tournament, held between the third-place finishers of each group. In other words, the losers of next week's matches will play for the right to advance as B2
On Sept. 21th, immediately after the last game: 1. Group A third - Group B third 2. Group C third - Group D third 3. Winners
Maps are determined by lottery after each player thumb-downs a map each.
MBCgame will consider Boxer's final standing as a quarterfinalist. He will be placed in the according slot in Survivor Round 2 (MSL qualifiers). MBCgame will time that match with Boxer's schedule, so that he can play while he is on scheduled leave.
Curious end for him really... It's been something like 2 years when you hear rumours about Boxer retiring or going to the army and when it comes, it's just too soon... Finishing with a rape against Silver in the middle of the league is definitly not what we wanted

I dont get this, does it mean Boxer will play in Survivor (when he has time, like on holiday or so)?
I REALLY REALLY REALLY wanted Boxer to win this MSL, to go out with the image of him standing on stage with the MSL trophy or w/e it is, while all the girls (and guys damnit) cry in the stands as the Emperor walks off stage for the last time.
But in 2 years+, it will be the happiest day in SC when he returns... Oh imagine the joy for people when the Ultra Old Schooler returns... It'll be like Jesus rising from the dead again. Joy.
Mohammad Ali had to join the army.. so what? he came back out and was still knockin fools out with style. there have been two MAJOR influences on my playing of starcraft. one was Heartcutter's Book of Terran from battlereports.com, the other was SlayerS_'BoxeR'. from that first vod of him scv rushing Yellow, to the replays of him from version 1.08 to the present, he is a constant inspiration, the ultimate can do player. the man is James Brown, Mohammad Ali and Dave Chappelle all rolled into one. (tell me you didnt laugh out loud the first time you saw ONE marine kill a lurker) his dropship mechanics series from pimpest plays, his MAGNIFICENT win vs JOYO on Paradoxx (you had to see it to understand) ... he is a starcraft player, but his spirit is that of a gladiator, a perfectionist. i dont know him and will probably never meet him, but he has touched my life. thank you BoxeR, i will remember you from your reps and vods, practise what you have taught on bnet and hamachi and await your return in the forums. (ok, thats almost creepy... sounds like some religious nutcase)

i woke up to finish my homework and i read this...
IMO i think MSL should just play each day or every other day(if possible) to finish MSL, for this special occasion...comeon it's boxer gotta bend the rules abit for the guy..

this is INDEED a sad moment.. :/ I can't believe it, I was rooting for him and it made me feel very good when I saw the video of him vs silver. and now this news just hits me bad, nobody ever thought that this moment will come.. but it certainly does and this will be one of the saddest day of the whole sc history.
They better make Boxer a fucking general in the army for doing this to him and us. You'd think they'd be able to speed the schedule up to accomodate the Emperor, so disappointing...
