I think Sea was using all of the minerals he had to hold to contain (6 scvs mining and he wasn't building any more); not sure he could have afforded enough turrets to protect his main effectively.

well he saw the lair, what are the chances of mutas? I would say pretty high. He had a good position outside the main at the choke. Sinking some money into engineering bay then a single turret would've protected against mutas imo. Either way, he's the pro in this case so he probably knows something I don't lol.
Odd game 2. That third as risky but I think he knew eco-wise he'll be down so he risked it but didn't defend enough.

First game: Killer saves up money for Sunken and almost allows Sea's comeback. Second game: Killer saves up money for Sunkens and loses. Third game: Sea saves up money for Bunker and loses.

They should actually use different mappools everytime. With that number of awesome maps that we have we could do that instead of playing the same maps over and over again.. -.-
Nostalgia is very odd map for the not so old-school. As you prob expect, the lack of natural gas is a very big deterrent for early expansion builds (eg: usual 1 rax CC) and the difficulty to defend the natural is just icing on the cake.

Honestly, Killer is throwing vs Sea every time. Every fucking time. He has better opportunities, he gets advantages, and he magically throws them away. Like Sea gets in his mind or something. It's some dark sorcery, I swear.
In the last set, Killer had so much ground to retreat his Lurker/Ling to, yet still he prefered to attack a choke where he couldn't even get a good Zergling surround. Every single game, players rushed to do or die tactics instead of playing it straight up. >_<

He does that a lot, he did it in the last SRT finals too I think. It's very heart breaking to watch him throw it all away.

Ling lurker denial of Mong's third, Mong's drops keep failing or doing very little damage, scourge control is good from hero and it's looking like hero's in a super strong position.

A quickly summary would feed my curiosity.
it was basically sea and killer losing early games due to being greedy. In no particular order: - first game, 8 rax, scouted, killed scv, delayed then sea all ins, killed exp, bunkers it but no engineering bay so 3 mutas finish his mineral line and then he has to fight mostly lings+several mutas+sunken-> Sea GG! - next game, 9 pool into lings that do nothing into getting a crazy fast third into sea attacking, breaking 2 sunkens -> Killer GG! - another game, sea assumes 12 hatch, doesn't think pool first so only scouts natural then killer comes in with 6 lings, kill his marines from forward rax -> Sea GG! - another game, Sea is greedy, no bunker on FS, lots of lings eat his MnM then he is unprepared for mutas -> Sea GG! etc...
Hero's build 3 Hatch with Spire + Hydra Den ---> +1 Carapace ---> Massive Lurker/Zergling/Scourges +1 mid game forces ---> Defilers ---> Zergling/Ultralisks. I like that strat.
I don't know, This Hero could have been a better competitor to Sea than Killer himself.

haha yeah? kinda disappointing. i was sort of rooting for mong for 3rd place though. his tvt games vs ample were some of the best i've seen in a while.
Oh, the VODS I saw are incomplete. It's a Bo7, not a Bo5... Either way, at least the first five games of the series were... yeah, they weren't exactly spectacular. And Mong losing in the 3rd place match 2-0 just really wraps up this finals for me... there's always SRT17 I guess!
