I'm quite concerned for Team 8 now, they havn't found a sponsor yet, and they keep putting on bad results... and even Jaedong has fallen to Canata... If they are going to disband most of the players will have to retire..

Just watched Jaedong vs Canata...uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh not even 1 spore? Like just 1? I think this game has clearly and exhaustively proven that making static defense is incommensurably less wasteful than not making static defense. What was that, like 100 overlords?

Also he had hydra tech, and with just making 5-6 hydras guard the ovies, I think it would've been a little bit more helpful.

Because 6 Valks take so much damage from 6 Hydras or 1-2 Spores, right? o.O

What he said. 2 Volleys = 4-5 OVs in a clump dead (or as many as there are). How much damage does a spore do during that time? Or a hanful of Hydras for that matter.

Plague + Hydra would have been helpful, or better scourge spreading + Valk hunting earlier on (im aware its very difficult). But no, a Spore or two or a handful of Hydra wouldn't have helped. And Canata kept repairing his Valks when they are Plagued T_T

The Dong was behind right after the opening tho, when he got his 3rd denied..
Look. Only Forward. See. Only Victory.

You need to act as if you're dealing with corsairs. Spores and some hydras would help.

Jaedong was supplied block half the freaking game. It was so painful to watch. It reminded me PvZ from 2007 when Zerg didn't know how to act when dealing with corsairs,,,

They get one-shotted with plague?

What terran would rather have valks than vessels in late game? It worked because Jaedong's entire anti-air is composed of muta, scourge, and a few hydras that later morphed into lurkers.

Edit: Jaedong basically fell apart that game. Something's wrong when multiple defilers died by mines and vultures. It seems really silly to go-- Late game mass valks revolution!~ based on a game where JD played horrendously.

The game was lost when he traded all his mutas for 3 valks in Canata's main. He should have retreated and remade scourge to fight for air superiority. There was nothing he can do once he lost that muta flock. In hindsight the best thing for him to do was go all air with lots of scourge and ling support. Canata didn't even have build an ebay so he should know the mech transition was going to be super early. Once Canata won complete air superiority there was no coming back. Spores or hydras aren't going to protect your OL's from 6 or more valkyries with just +1 upgrade. Going beyond +1 was more of a ceremony than strategy.

Yes. I think he killed over a hundred overlords.

Every time obs would select a valks it had 15+ kills, and he constantly had between 4 and 8 of them, streaming from two ports.

Have to notice how Jaedong has problems adapting to new stuff like that. It reminded me his game against FBH where he got eaten by 3 battlecruiser against which he clearly didn't know how to react.

or when stork made 3 gates at his natural ^^

Really sad to admit, but JD is not a very flexible player. Hes stubborn as hell, and most of the time he will force the game to bend his way (which is amazing!). He sees an opening, he will take it and crush you with that, but once he picks a tech tree he will stick with it till he wins or dies.. Can't adapt well... even when he wins some games it feel like he coulda won so much easier. That zvp on chain reaction a couple weeks ago.... he went mass mass mass hydra and since its jaedong's macro it worked. But if he just morphed in a couple lurks and played a tiny little bit smarter he woulda CRUSHED the p from the start of the game, instead of dragging it on and giving him an opportunity to even it up (actually I think the P was ahead at one point)

I think zvz is the exception to that rule though..
