it is still beyond my comprehension how people can go blind 12 hatch when they're a single match away from elimination. I guess some people never learn.

The rule is there to deter players from deliberately pausing in mid-game to break the opponent's concentration. i think it's good that it's an absolute rule as well. don't leave it up to kespa to judge whether the situation is appropriate or not. rules are rules.

You can watch the situations and decide what to do. It was a complete mirror match so far. Why not regame and give him/his clan a money penalty as a warning.

If players were allowed to pause on their own, they could pause in the middle of an intense micro battle or something to mess up their opponent and then claim that their mouse was malfunctioning. If you have to type ppp instead, it both gives the opponent warning and forces the pausing player to interrupt his own play. That is not a logical reason. Players would just strictly not do such a maneuver. 100% not, it would never happen. Whenever you pause there is an investigation and the risk is too high. If they get caught lying they will get banned and the reward for pausing is almost non-existant.

too bad we can't time travel and tell the player in the past that they wont be dq if they pause the game without ppp.

I would agree if it was a random pause in a game deciding situation. But getting a auto loss when literally nothing is happening is a little too harsh imo. They could have easily have refs decide if the pause had any kind of major impact on the game.
