I agree with chill.
+ Show Spoiler +Though at this point it doesn't matter. Semih is out anyways.

Game's obnoxious attitude is somewhat ruining the cast. Still entertaining, but Game needs to tone down the bad manner, team bias, and racism. O_O
|
very very surprising day astro, trutacz, semih, technics, terror, spx all got eliminated.. wow just wow.
they are all great players, im so surprised.

How dare I bad manner someone who abused during my tournament and was temporarily banned until I had the niceness in my heart to let him back in? How dare I also cheer for my team and defend #3 WCG Poland 2010 from being called a noob from a proven abuser/never qualified for WCG?
|
Hey, I apologize, for I did not know that he abused, but you should've dealt with it in a calm collective manner instead of spouting racist remarks. Why did you keep him in the tournament then? In all honesty, if he was banned, Semih should've been too.
|
I respect you for your skill in SC, and attempting to help the community by having this tournament, I just stated some concerns of mine, so I apologize if you took it wrongly.
|
R-must
|
I believe spx just played too many games by accident... he likes to massgame and i remember he lost count vs me as well, if that was what Game was referring to. If he abused on purpose then why was he allowed to reladder with mamon? What semih did is not even comparable...
|
What did Semih do? That was years ago, this is about ISL. ZZang... I agree, but I have a huge lack of respect for spx and his team. They're very bad manner and abusive and I don't appreciate it. I should have banned spx and Mamon, and Shauni he abused vs Mamon. 37 games vs Mamon, +1500 pts each.
Edit: He was allowed to re-ladder because anyone who is willing to play enough games to qualify for ISL in 24 hours deserved it imo. Three people did that @ Shauni.
|
|
Still doesn't affect me because I don't agree with that post. There was no 2 sides to the story, which is pretty fascist. Aside from that I'm not going to respond to it anymore because Semih was disqualified and I'd appreciate if it was dropped.
|
Yeah, I guess, anyways, he's out now.
|
|
Understood. It's the same concept as Artosis in TSL... he wasn't exactly the poster child for professionalism and manner, now look at him. Not that I would ever compare anything I'm doing to him, because I am 100% not a fan. Regardless, in order the most work for this tournament follows: Me, NoOne, JoeKim, Yeszero, Sayle, Tenshi (as far as my people not the community that's helping - hope I didn't miss anyone lol). So while I get your point it's not so much that it's taken. First off, there is no way to stop players from being BM. Second off, JoeKim has done a lot of work, and people BMing is not only a kickback for certain parties, but in general a good thing for any tournament. I'm glad there is a lot of drama surrounding this tournament, it creates more views and makes it less boring. This is for the BW community, not for the game of BW. If that was the case, I would've hosted a Korean tournament. Not to mention the parties that were BMed (that I didn't BM because I'm extremely harsh) probably enjoy the attention.
Edit: Semih/Chill... clearly there is history there, that's an invalid point.

i'm sorry, krndandaman. i'll make sure next time i'm extra polite so that i can fulfill your request and fit into your world full of double rainbows, fluffy teddy bears, and dancing ponies. semih and i will be emailing IdrA letting him know that he was supposed to be disqualified from TSL for BM too.
actually, better yet.. let me write a letter to Blizzard telling them that every time i curse, it needs to be censored.
let me know, when you have BW casters lined up to help Sayle cast for 6 hours.

Well having a bit of bad manner from some of the players in a tournament and having a commentator insult a large portion of the global population (african americans/south americans) on numerous occasions seems different to me. People are not different because of looks and/or the side of an imaginary line they live on. After the culture, people are essentially the same.
I guess its freedom of speech, but your hatred towards such a large portion of the population despite not knowing them seems like closed minded and limited thinking to me. But if that's the way you choose to think, I find it limited thinking...but its your decision.

My 2c on the cast today. Game and joekim shouldn't be talking during the action. Sayle calls it really well, and haven't joekim saying stupid shit over the top of sayle while its in the middle of a battle reduces from the quality of the cast.
hillarious games today as well

hillarious games today as well stupid shit? people dont want to hear someone laughing over the top of sayle when sayle is calling the play. let sayle do his thing and talk when the game is quieter.

I don't get people complaining. I people want to spend all that time and energy in casting this event, they can cast it any way they like it. Thanks for casting.
Also call 911 if you feel that political correctness is being ignored.

almost feel sorry for joe kim

Kiante... we get it, you like Sayle. He's clearly better at talking fast and putting U's at the end of things in a loud voice. But this is the 4th time I've seen you bring it up... @ Dimitris lol

Some surprising results yesterday! When does the cast start this evening to catch some games?

It's a difficult issue and the last word on bm/gm hasn't been spoken yet for sure, but the issue at hand, imo, is that the stream/broadcast is your main means of promoting this event. If someone tunes in to see what's up and bumps into casters calling the players bad that's going to turn them off. It's okay to speak your mind, and I can even understand expressing hatred/frustration for this Russian abuser kid, but it shouldn't be done on stream. Especially when you're next to Sayle who's doing an excellent job trying to hype this up.

tbh I don't think this'll be too much of a problem, if you'd like me to look for one let me know. Kind of sounds like you're doing it cause "someone's gotta do it". I'd be happy to relieve you of this burden.

Echoing this. Sorry but I couldn't keep watching with the audio on. I like that you guys are enthusiastic but your casting was getting out of hand.

I don't think joekim was that bad, except for his unclear mic audio. His laughing was mostly cute and he usually was the first to point out important stuff.
|
Julia and Shauni ftw! Thank you for casting.
|
I think Joe Kims doing a good job honestly, Sayle does miss a lot which Joe Kim catches. Just wanted to say thanks for putting on this event.
(im a member of clan pain by the way so I have extra reason not to like Joe Kim for the "cute" fiasco by the way lol)

woo go Shauni!
who's julia? some good zerg user? either that or semih is just terribad now.
I don't recognize so many of these names.

Oh just to be clear - I really don't mind Joe's casting. First impression was that he just giggled at random stuff but the insights that he offered we're excellent and spot-on (like Shauns mentioned) and I think with a little more effort he'll be an excellent caster.

Not sure how good Julia is but the game against Semih was entertaining/unusual, intense sometimes and I liked it even though + Show Spoiler +it could have ended earlier . Glad that we have such a tournament

You can find them there as well, but yeah noticed that the playlist is private on youtube, sent a PM to Sayle about it.

The playlist does need to be fixed on youtube, you can log in and view them as of now... all VODs will be on youtube by tomorrow.

Hmm, I'm logged in at youtube it's still private. Oo

I'm not sure how to fix the playlist thing. They're marked as public for me when I look in the settings. Anyone know?

Hey krndandaman, welcome back from your Carousel Ride buddy! How was it?
-i haven't been on the iccup staff since the beginning of February -casting games has nothing to do with Admining, hence Diggity being a guest commentator (zach! :D) -if anything i was an ISL Admin doing behind the scenes work, which was mainly for LRM)Game, in addition to helping other gamers as best as i could -Game was never labeled as a commentator, au contraire as the organizer he was mainly hyping and promoting the sponsors -i have casted a plethora of events with Sayle problem-free with me being immensely more inappropriate and truthfully biased (or BM to all the whiny wendys out there) -the main issue at hand are people needing me to Fed Ex them tissue boxes for my behavior against Cute[PaiN] when he eliminated me by two consecutive cheese strats -if you have a personal vendetta against me, do something about it. you have the freedom to. i suggest either making a poll to revoke me from casting, or just muting the volume. whatever tickles your fancy, broski. -you're right about one thing though: more than 1 caster is not necessary. however, if you haven't noticed.. Sayle is sick and he has been casting in strenuous repetition for lengthy periods of time. -most importantly, all the time everyone has invested and sacrificed coincide with no one getting paid to do so. yet it's nice to see a few people appreciate the entertainment and drama revolving around an RTS game insinuated as "dead."
|
|
Game can be a little rude, at least, that's the impression i have after reading his posts, and JoeKim may be a little disruptive, both as a caster and as a master-cheeser, but they are by far some of the most active persons in the BW scene and they work hard to keep it alive. I'm thankful that Game and Sayle organized such an awesome tournament.
I thought casting was good and entertaining today. The three casters format is not the best, but Sayle casts so many hours he needs some help.
|
Err, im confused. How can there be a ro56. Doesn't it have to be a perfect square of two(times the amount of rounds left in the tournament?

There are 4 players invited directly into ro 32 iirc.

Message to legaton about organizing this tournament and the truth behind it. + Show Spoiler +There seems to be a bit of confusion... I suggest reading the main thread (AoV iCCup Starleague - http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=190866). I organized this entire tournament, although it would not exist without the sponsors and I probably would have broke down due to time and stress constraints in the workload that ISL has taken, so the help as well. Primarily sYz-Adrenaline. His huge contribution inspired this entire tournament outside of a pipe dream and a simplistic idea by me. I would like to mention that team AoV started the tournament, with Elegant[AoV] and sYz-Adrenaline stepping in first and foremost. All I had was a layout of a tournament and a hope of its existence. Once I acquired his sponsorship, clearly other sponsors helped bring up the prize pool in a respective order for many different reasons. Of course, NoOne and JoeKim started as my main help etc etc, but after this long rant I do just want to point out in response to legaton's post, that Sayle did not help organize this tournament in the slightest. Contribution? Huge. Organization? Wut.

"My first blog - current situation of BW:" http://www.teamliquid.net/blogs/viewblog.php?topic_id=201065
Why I'm responding with that? Read it. "I feel like if BW wants to live". BW is not dying any more than it already has since the release of SC2. Super bothered by the fact that that's not common knowledge.

VODs
VODs of all the casted games are now uploaded except for the first two games from group 9. The upload for one of those seems to have failed (so I'll need to re-upload), and the other game wasn't recorded properly so I'll need a bit of time to retrieve it from the backup recording. Please let me know if there's any problems viewing these. I still don't know how to fix the private playlist thing since I've already set them all to public in the settings. Also, there were a couple of complaints about audio sync, but I checked those VODs and it seems to be fine so I'll need some more complaints about it before I do anything.
Since I can't update the OP, I'll post the VODs here and wait for Deus to see this:
Group 6: + Show Spoiler +
Group 8: + Show Spoiler +
Group 9: + Show Spoiler +
Group 10: + Show Spoiler +
Edit: 1) For people getting the "playlist is private" problem, try logging in to your Youtube account before viewing. 2) The ICCup.BW account is now back in my possession, so future ISL threads will be made with that account.

The "playlist is private" problem is apparently because the link in the OP is wrong. If you just go to www.youtube.com/iccupbw everything will work fine.
