Edit: Of course the draw matters a lot, easy draw = free ride to best of 3, anything could happen in bo1.
yeah yeah agreed but what i mean is that Grrr 's chances to advance are at least equal to Androide's, after all he's won the bronze last year beating control ..

@ beast thx. this sounds all very convincing except the TvsZ on dahlia. what i saw from the WCG prelim replays and what my personal( little) experience is is that TvsZ on dahlia is very ballanced.
the games Froz and day ( TvsZ ) played on dahlia have been very even. Nada > Junwi on Dahlia ( TvsZ ) and i think i have at least seen 10+ TvsZ WCG prelim matches on dahlia which have been very even games.
nevertheless i am wondering why WCG the queen of all BW toruneys is played this shitty way.
BO1 and imba maps and no Looserbracket in the final round.
this is like a soccer WM with rules like : Game lasts only 45 minutes, maps are "frozen dirt" and "hot sand" ( which will lead to big imba considering the different climate situation in different countries) and if a team is 0-1 behind game ist automatically over no matter if the goal was in the 3rd minute and the opposite team had a good chance to score 1-1 in the lasting 42 minutes.
this totally sucks

About map imbalances i agree with beast exept that i think TvP in Dhalia is harder than PvZ, the protoss can get a kinda cheese opening like going reavers but the T has no option at all but to go regular build or drop that most P expect you to do, you cant fast expo because well, nat has no gas so you are forced to get lots of vultures and the P will know this and double cannon each expo, and if you manage to get out of your first bridges now you have to get into other bridges while the P just waits behind them.
Only a NaDa style trampling force would work but theres no freaking gas enough for the tanks, i think Terran's best bet is to go 2 drops with 4 tanks and lots of vults harassing the shit out of the P, if he slows him down enough just trample nada style, god you cant even make a bamboo, with so many obstacles ranged goons will own it before you can do anything.

pity there are no nicks and picture in that group thing, i only know about half of the player by realname, and looking at the nerd pics is fun.

First- Martian ,which is the most balanced map of the 4.It requires the protoss player to play quite different from usual to have a chance, getting another main fast and running away from the terran as much as possible, till he is able to amass. At least if he gets into late game he should be able to win. ZvP and TvZ look ok.TvZ may become quite hard with some bad luck ,though.(cross positions i consider bad luck ) Kohral-TvP is insanely hard, because the protoss has so much cheeze its not funny at all.Example - Fisheye-Elky last year.PvZ is completely impossible.Dont let someone convince you in the opposite. Some stupid zergs dont get their mineral only right away and lose...ZvT is very hard, prolly unwinnable at high level, because of the tight middle mostly. Gorky - ZvP and ZvT and PvT are all pretty hard, playable but pretty hard. And finally - Dahlia! At first it looks like Zerg cant take his natural expo vs t.Wrong.The distance is very longer than LT.You cant rush him.The zerg is able to power hard early and the terran has some very big problems with getting his bases running - huge base ,very easy to drop;lurkers harass mineral only;the gas expo is veeery vulnarable.Still, the terran can win, but he has to play better than the zerg. TvP - Very hard.Incredibly hard!Distance is long, the gas expo is not available till you get like 10 tanks. The main is built in a way that its very hard to protect from cheeze, especially reaver drops. You have 3 obstacles to pass to get to the enemy base- your own cliff and 2 sets of bridges. It is incredibly hard to stay in the game.Still, if the terran plays perfect, I guess its playable. PvZ - Impossible.Zerg has + 6 minerals right away.Protoss has no way of defending his gas early and even his mineral only is very hard to defend from lurks.Once the protoss player slows down his zeal production ,the zerg is free to get his gas and do whatever he wants. PvZ on Korhal isn't completely impossible -.- It is hard, I grant you that but it is better than for example bifrost :O
And on dahlia you say that zerg can get their gas nat right away, right? (Just checking, not sure what you meant with nat) I agree with that ~_~

well, he did finish 3rd @ Germany WCG, so it's safe to say he's not horrible.
