After defeating eStro, OZ has kept themselves alive in the push for the playoffs. Though they sit at 9th place, they need only go 5-1 in their final 6 matches, and beating the team they are attempting to overtake would be monumental at this point. CJ is fresh off of their win over KT, and their triple threat of EffOrt, sKyHigh, and Snow is wreaking havoc on the pro scene. It should be noted that Effort has actually lost his last four proleague matches, but CJ has been able to pick up the pieces with a pretty good Round 5 run thus far. On the other side, should he continue his winning ways, Jaedong needs someone, anyone, to step up and force, at the very least, a 5th set. CJ Entus has enough talent, in theory to snipe, but Jaedong has won his last thirteen proleague matches. Lomo is good for a random protoss snipe every once in a while, HiyA is skilled in the ways of Broodwar, and PerfectMan is great for bench-warming. God help us all if it all falls on Killer's shoulders again + Show Spoiler +
. This is an opportunity neither team can miss, because Samsung KHAN is beating the hell out of everyone this round and is also a threat to steal the sixth seed.
Hot damn! OZ is more than merely alive; they are kickin'. As for CJ, a major step backwards, though not backbreaking. However, the other teams in the mix, KHAN and Stars, have this to say: + Show Spoiler +

I'm rooting for OZ because it makes the playoffs race far more interesting to prolong the drama. Do I think they'll win? Well, I think I want them to win. And that's good enough for me.
Killer will win a game... against Snow. =D But seriously, I think Hiya is really good and just needs to step it up. He has the skill and then Jaedong to rape.

Oz doesn't have any formidable toss. Nor a decent toss, nor a mediocre one. Any toss that Oz has is ranked anywhere from foreigner to terrible. But yeah, idk what happened to Effort. He 3-0'd Kal then 3-2'd Flash then just died.

Also, Hiya is playing well once again. JD will get 2 wins today if it goes 5. So Killer, Hiya, or Backho need to win a game. I'm predicting CJ 3-1 though. Expect JD to play game 1 and put OZ 1-0.
Want JD to set the longest Proleague winstreak tonight too. :p Come on JD!
And Hiya is one of the few Terrans with a winning record against skyhigh, so I think there is a shot that Oz can get 2 wins. And if Killer cheeses... i think Oz can take this without relying on an Ace match
On June 23 2010 08:46 Hikari wrote: I am afraid JD would slip tonight after having to carry for so long =/
I agree, a sad part of Oz is that they rely on JD crucially. I mean, they would be probably the lowest ranked team without JD. Thank god JD is such a beast Zerg, but somone really, REALLY needs to fill in the gap.
Backho hasn't won any games since he got "back". If either Hiya or Lomo can win a game, Jaedong can clean it up in 5th set... but we all know Killer is going out.
CJ may have lots of players that are good at sniping Flash, but their only hope at sniping Jaedong seems to be Effort. Even then, I think Jaedong is still the clear favorite.
Everything depends on Hiya. The rest of Oz is completely anti-clutch. They only seem to perform well when Jaedong and Hiya do their part. I think it may be a good idea to send Jaedong and Hiya in the 2nd and 3rd set. That way, if someone like Lomo or Killer goes first, they'll hopefully feel less pressure knowing they still have Hiya and Jaedong to back them up should they fail.
Also, please please don't play BackHo. He has a long way to recover and even PerfectMan may be a better bet at this point but ideally the lineup will be Jaedong (x2), Hiya, Killer, Lomo. If they decide to deviate from this lineup, I would like to see Princess get a chance.
I really want Oz to win, but what worries me is that CJ has alot of A class players which I feel all are very capable of beating Lomo, Killer, BackHo, or Perfectman... Hiya has to pull off something great, and Jaedong has to keep him current level of play up, CJ vs Oz always gets me so hyped.
On a side note, is it just me or do Flash vs JD matches never end up being epic? Neither of the MSL finals, mone of the PL appearances, not even the all-stars matches. Last good match between them was Gom Season 1?

This match-up has me all confused inside, I really like CJ entus and I love the Dong. I also would like Effort to get out of his game loosing streak and return to being awesome as well an awesome Skyhigh games but I'd like also to see OZ get into the finals, I'm also fearing that Jaedong may lose a game from having so much pressure to carry the team/ "What some may call being sniped"
Ohhhh wait I get it. CJ predicted that Jaedong would be sent out on the first set, so they sent a sacrificial lamb named foru to take the loss, freeing up Effort, SkyHigh, and Snow to dismantle the rest of OZ. It's genius, imo

Lol poor Lomo. He actually defended the reavers pretty damn well considering he started ebay when the reaver was almost done, but the goon pressure and then DTs fucked him.

You’re challenging the SPL winning streak record. -I never really thought about it in any of my games, and now I’m already at 13-wins. If I win next game, I can create a new record of 14 straight wins. I’m ambitious for this. Everytime I play in SPL, my attitude is it’s impossible for me to lose, so I think that’s why I’ve performed so well.

but no--he actually only had 4 turrets all in one place at the natural. Effort picks off a lot of SCVs in exchange for taking lots of damage to his mutas from marines and losing a few.
EFFORT'S FOURTH IN GRAVE TROUBLE MASSIVE MNM FORCE GOING IN, HIYA COULD NOT BREAK AS EFFORT USES MUTAS TO SAVE ONE NEAR DEAD LURKER AS HIYA RUNS OUT OF SCAN ENERGY
HIYA HELD BACK AT FOURTH'S CHOKE UNTIL EFFORTS REINFORCEMENTS WIPE OUT THE MNM

I think the turning point was when Effort lost a shitload of lurkers/ling while trying to flank, but met reinforcements instead and the spread rines killed it all.
Then he never had a large enough force to protect his gas expos. Hiya's multitask was pretty damn on that game.

This is silly. What most people recommend is, nearly by definition, the best approximation of what most people enjoy. You may tend to agree with the minority opinion, but most people don't. Clearly.

And yeah, that would have been amazing, if Flash weren't in his current state. Plexa, however, is unyielding!
Pls, HiyA, never stop being so awesome!!! We love ya~
Hahaha, Thanks! I missed this. This is better than any ceremony I've seen FBH do (Except that one where he's doing the choreography from that very serious and solemn sounding korean song) .
Damn it i want both CJ and Oz to make the playoffs , but it's gonna be really hard . In Oz's case those Killer Ace matches are really hurting now . CJ crumbled pretty hard in WL ....

He's retired now, apparently. And his last game was not pretty. Or maybe he's retiring at the end of the season, but he'll never see another game again.
As bad as ^ is doing, it is amazing how much worse Effort is playing. You would think being down 0-2 and winning your first title would allow you to play with more confidence than he is right now.
This is why I hate comments in recommended game section... Take for example, your comment in set 3 is totally spoilerish.
Props to Hiya. Despite his (very literal) mouth gaping play, after that beautiful ceremony and his game against Free, I am beginning to like him. He played very well against Effort.

That's why I made that special quiz option just for you, good sir

I voted "To inspire whining from some posters".
Although the "Because you touch yourself at night" was awfully tempting.
Then again, it's nothing to be ashamed of, unless you are in Soviet Russia.
Wow, I logged off late into the third set when HiyA was losing and came back soon after to see the series was over. I thought we lost 3-1 for sure! YAYYYY OZ :D

When I saw Hiya losing, I too was considering turning off the stream and going to sleep. I'm glad I didn't, game 3 was great. Hiya failed so much at the beginning and then proceeded to completely rape Effort.

Or maybe Effort just isn't that great of a player...his win against Flash was hardly convincing. He barely made it out of the Ro16 after 4 rounds of tiebreakers against go.go and Shine. He then beat Zero who's well known for his failtastic ZvZ, and he beat Kal 3-0 in the semis which is fairly impressive although his ZvP has always been pretty good and Kal's PvZ is nothing special.
BTW, you might wanna point out which game those spoilers are referring to. People might click on them thinking it contains spoilers for this game.

I heard he is retiring because he is going to die soon.
