dear ahzz, i kind of got owned so i thought i'd ask advice. So this terran goes 2 fact port on me..i scout no expo and know he is prepping for a runby or drop or temple jump (it's on medusa). or mass wraiths...i'm scared so i do get a den in these situations, adn then start a spire as quick as possible along with 3 hydras, then keep droning.
The first runby kind of fails, i kill 3 vults, but the next one he manages to sneak past me and start mining between my main and my nat.
The problem is that my only overlord was at the temple watching for a vult jump.
So how should i distribute my overlords? I've always scouted with my first overlord and my 2nd overlord..should i not send them to the bases? Should i return the 2nd overlord home once i know he scouted wrong? i was always worried stray rines would kill it..i lost a game to that once, so i usually stayed on cliffs. Regardless it's a long trip home without overlord speed.
it was so painful...and it's worse watching because you know the terran has no antiair, and that if 6 mutas had gotten out you could have ended it.
also, i had 3 hydras +2 lings that killed the first 3 vults with my sunken, i popped 3 more hydras because i was worried when he tried to run by should i have cancelled those and wasted larva? as it was i didn't have much money for mutas..but i guess the biggest issue is having enough overlords...should i station my 3rd overlord in between my two mining bases to prevent this? advice please

(I assume since you stopped his runby you are past 17 pop)

3rd one was still at the 3rd position on medusa, i didnt' start moving it back; should i turn it back immediately? the thing is, one game when i turned it back the terran sent out his early rines to hunt for my overlord or something and killed it. Is there a safe path back? or should i always have 4-6 lings out and about on the map? usually i only get 2 lings for the scout, and 2 more later if they went mech, maybe 6 total if it's bio with early pressure like

if you know he's gonna be runbying you might as well place two sunken colonies. If you also placed your hydra den to block, the space that he can runby through usually shouldnt even exist. against terran you usually dont have to bring your 2nd ovie to your enemy unless you plan on dropping him. if you have hard time blocking, you might even consider 4 hydras. with proper droning, you should have your 4th ovie as well, since you need supply for mutas.
BTW, I uploaded some vods...

so yeah, pop my 4th overlord on time, and pull back my 2nd overlord as fast as possible. I guess i've been lazy since it never mattered when playing against bio. do you think it's worth having an overlord watch the temple? or should i just use a ling ( can the ling see far enough)?

Not only can you watch the temple, you have better knowledge of his potential drops, and you can use that overlord for quick minefield detection later on if you use 1-2 hydras to clear up mines.

ok; yeah a second sunken sounds like a good idea too. It's just hard on my low level multitask when someone can drop a vulture from behind and then try to run by as well. i moved hydras to deal with the drop, which is why i had vults run by my sunken and mine, the new vults went behind my mineral line in my natural where the sunken couldn't hit..I moved my hydras without noticing the mines, lost them. GG

Yay Ahzz, thank you thank you ^^. Thanks to you my pvz is my best mu. And my others have improved as well

can someone explain to me how to hydra break? do i research range or movement or both off of two dens?
edit: after practice movement seems better..you get your hydra suicidally close to the cannons and ignore the zealots while sniping them and then run..your reinforcements arrive and you attack again before new cannons can get up, finishing the zealots...or at least that's how it happened to me...then the player who is far better than you proceeds to ask for a re with their main race and schools you with double your apm

Man I really like your vods. What I like is that you have relatively low apm, but you use the most of it, unlike other players. You also have very good tactics and you generally thing of stuff on a higher level. They are real good keep them up!
