I do feel like there's sometimes an angle that can let a few hydras attack a forge that is above or below too, but I don't know how consistently that can happen.

It also increases the starting energy of newly built vessels which is handy

I've never seen what high level players do with it. The earlier you get it the more value it gives. It has the most value when you have many vessels that doesnt instantly deplete their energy (goes above 200). And it also gives starting energy of 62 (+12). The upgrade needs to be finished before you start producing a vessel which is ashame.

EDIT : I assume this effects all units with energy lol I guess this is kind of a dumb question, but I haven't really ever tested it, it feels like it does.

Arbiters are the same way. However iirc queens are not. For queens (and I think defilers), if you start building queens and the energy upgrade finishes after you've started, then the queens will start with 62 energy.

I just learned something new about BW once again after all the decades, couldn't believe the Zerg energy upgrades behaved differently than the T&P ones but it's true!

That is the most bizarre spaghetti code thing I've ever heard of in this beautiful mess of a game we all love.

There's a reason why it might not always feel like that's how it works - it's not always how it works. What.................. this should be patched
