Right click the mineral patch next to where the offending unit is, then a-click once they are stacked up enough.
I usually do a-move and I'm not 100% sure if there is a difference, to be honest. Figured I'd edit this in here in case someone else has a better take.

By the time I realize it zerg is already on +3 ultras with speed while my +2 is not even done. double if you see evo chamber and a queen's nest, they're probably going ultra. tbh, usually evo chambers are enough of a giveaway but I caution that there are many zerg mid game builds that rely on quick double evo chambers like some lurker based builds and hydra lurker. But even before this, you should scan and see their larva to confirm whether or not they are making mutas so that you can save money on turrets. A lot of zerg like to ultra rush with a spire not to make a muta flock, but to just make one for scouting and maybe the terran player has to acknowledge the possibly of a muta attack. A zerg player that has opted for a lair but is producing low amounts of either hydras or mutas is more likly to be fooled . in general, a good way to respond is to go 7 rax with 2 starports making vessels once you confirmed their build. Prioritize double ebay upgrades over all else because they are possibly the most important factor in a fight aside from raw numbers and positioning your army in a ball (similar concept to anti-muta micro). Also, if you confirm they have no spire, dropping behind mineral line is pretty good. It's hard to defend 3 base against this style so massing on 2 base is preferable. Also, it sounds tempting to do a tank push but the sunkens usually buy enough time so that tank pushes aren't that amazing.
Thanks this seems like a good response, usually I will get tanks but sunkens buy enough time for ultras with the carapace upgrade to wreck my marines.
Forgot to mention I scouted zerg last and he did like a fast gas while hiding his 3rd so I thought it was 2 hatch muta which most zergs do nowadays. Once I scanned the evo chamber and queens nest I tried to push but he had so many sunkens up that I couldn't do anything. This build just seems really strong if you don't manage to scout early.

How do you respond to 2 hatch muta? I mean after the mutas don't come, what do you do?
|
very generally speaking you defend until you get +1 and you try to advance. if you cant then you wait until you have vessels and then you try and take map control. its pretty hard to give more accurate details because the timings for when you advance differ depending on how much zerg commits to mutas. for zergs its pretty open as to what they can do. they can try and hover around 11 mutas and expand quicker, they can get more zerglings, they can get more mutas, they can do muta/ling all ins, they can do muta/lurker all ins. not much terran can do while you get your +1 and sizeable mm army up besides looking at zergs muta count and scanning for zerg expo timing and den timings

I was asking Dante08 what he does. To help him. To see what he is thinking when he thinks it is 2 base muta and the mutas doesn't show up. What did he do beforehand?
Only a few maps have a third with a single entrance that is a narrow ramp and they will usually need a forward deployed hatch to have enough sunkens to delay tanks long enough. Realistically speaking, getting chitinous up ultras is about the same time as getting dark swarm up, so if +3 ultras are around, so would a funny dark swarm rush build.
The only info we have (now, we didn't even know what race) is that he makes marines and tanks. Maybe his comsat is super late. Maybe his science vessel is super late or he never even makes a starport. Maybe he just sits on 2 base forever and then get rolled over by the ultras.

why is it that when a game disconnects from server in ranked, I usually get no mmr when I win but I usually lose mmr when I lose? I know it's a coincidence but it's still annoying. I don't remember it being like this until the ladder matched players to Koreans a lot more.

2 questions. Firstly, I have seen pros make natural assimilator often at around 4:30 but also around 3:50. In what circumstance should I take natural assimilator at 3:50 instead of 4:30 (soon after stargate starts)?
Second question is when I do 9734, I find it hard to deal with an opponent who slips zealots at my third. I feel like I have to pull my drones and take hydras from my natural to defend but that might buy them enough time to complete +1 melee weapons or even save part of their wall so I am wondering if there is some other way to deal with this.

Question about the hitboxes of buildings that are currently out of my vision (but not anymore covered by Fog of War):
It seems to me that buildings have a larger hitbox when you don't have active vision of them. The hitbox seems to extend further to the top of the screen then. If the building is out of vision and I a-move or just right-click a unit into a certain area above the normal hitbox of such a building, then the unit will register the command as if I told it to attack that building specifically. If I click the same spot with vision then the unit behaves as intended.
It's actually a quite considerable extension of the hitbox, and it must've happened to me many times that I accidentally gave a direct attack-command because of this instead of a-moving close to the building. Until now, if I noticed this (as you see the red circle flashing around the building), I just quickly repeated the command a little further away from the building to be sure and didn't really test it.
I'm just curious why that is and if this is consistent throughout all buildings...

Does anyone remember the vod/clip of some old progamer (i think it was nal ra???) and hes talking about how flash joined their team as a rookie and he was battling everyone and winning and the progamer was getting nervous because they didnt want some rookie coming in and beating everyone.
I would really like to find it and rewatch it

When I want to start to delve a bit into Brood War, where do folks play nowadays? ICCUP or just on the Bnet servers? Or any other Gateway?

Bnet servers is where things are. ICCup is still active, but the player count is extremely low so best to play RM as bad as it can be at times (ladder lag from what I hear).

RM is Stacraft Remastered, which came out in 2017, they gave the game new graphics and most players nowadays play on the original servers which i' m sure you are familiar with (Europe, East US, West US, etc.) .
You can buy the game again here: https://eu.shop.battle.net/product/starcraft-remastered
You need at least Windows 7 or apple to run this game now (does not work with WIndows xp or previous versions anymore.
you don' t need to download a launcher, as it comes with battle.net launcher (you need an account)
