Is there a lazy mans way of minesweeping areas of the map with goon+obs? i feel like i spend way too much apm carefully moving these fuckers around and keeping the obs with them

dont use all your goons, minesweeping can be done with 4 goons and a obs.

upgrade your observers range or speed if you want to be lazy.

Then use aboves post recommendation.

if you just right click on the obs with your goons then move obs forward every now and then it should be fine right? obviously making sure to not send the obs too far, so your goons can stop and attack any mines

then if you shift queue the observer around an area, your goons will stop when your observer stops and shoot stuff. hmm gotta try this

Another question,
say my fourth nexus just finishes and all my probe lines are optimally saturated. should I rally all my nexus to my fourth one? (assuming the route is secured) or should I just keep making probes at each nexus and transfer them once theyre in excess?

You definitely don't rally all your Nexuses there. No one does that.

As to what's optimal, I've seen pros do different things, generally I recall seeing one big migration from the main/nat to the new base using excess Probes (because the 3rd is generally less saturated than the main/nat) but I've seen them transfer some from their 3rd as well. I try to do something like this, depending on the map and what my current probe distribution is like, so that the Probes are exposed for the least amount of time possible:

It also depends on when you took your 4th (how many Probes you have total affects how many you should transfer, obviously).

Anyone have an issue where Starcraft can see all the replays (autosave and regular save) and can load them, but I cannot see them on Windows Explorer outside of the game? It's super annoying because I basically cannot share replays unless I host them in Starcraft.

I checked all the settings for viewing hidden files on Windows. I checked that I'm looking in the correct folder (I verified by copying BSL maps there and I can load them in Starcraft). It's gotta be something with permissions, where Starcraft can only see them, but I'm an admin on my computer so it doesn't make sense.

Oh wow I didn't realize that. I'm glad I asked. I had searched the computer for replays as well and didn't find any so I had ruled this possibility out. I'll look there tonight.

Sometimes I have a hard time holding off 2 fact after doing a 29 nexus build? is this normal? i was to understand that they fell out of style.

I usually go 29 nexus then get my robo and 2 more gates + obs. ive tried going 3 gates before my robo but it dies to the 2fact vulture variant.

is it fine to just go 1gate robo -> expand -> gate? thatd counter it pretty well but i think youd be pretty behind if he just built his CC on the high ground

you can also try 21 nexus into 2nd gate followed by robo that is more economic. If you can tell they're going 2 fac, you should add to a total of 4 gateways. I think 1 gate robo into expand is too safe.

Going 3 gates before obs is a solid option. You shouldn't be dying to vulture-heavy variants even if your robo/obs is late, because your nat should be blocked by pylons and dragoons.

As a general rule of thumb, as soon as I know it is 2 fac, I build shuttle and one round of zealots minimum. You can cut probe production and add extra gateways, or get your robo earlier than you would otherwise. If you hold without losing probes, you should be ahead.

thanks ill give the shuttle a try. isnt walling the nat with pylons bad if its a 2 fact with siege? they can kill 4~ pylons right away.

edit: also is the best manner pylon when you can catch 1 probe? because then it cant escape and wtf because i see pros catch 3 probes then they just all glitch out why would they do that
