Just because you get Gateway before Forge doesn't necessarily mean that you can safely add Cybernetics earlier than with Forge-first builds, because it depends on what Zerg is doing, no? In fact it's quite possible that your Cyber will be later with Gateway openings afaik. | ||

so basically whats important isnt that you get a core up 30 seconds earlier every game compared to a forge first build, its that the difference between tech speed is bigger if you go gate first. | ||

I'm not an expert on the BW color-system but: I assume you mean shift+tab which cycles through three color-patterns: a) the colors that the game randomly selected for the players (red, blue, green, yellow, brown, black, white, etc), b) the colors that the game randomly selected for the players BUT on the minimap they're in red (opponent) and green (you) and yellow (allies) c) everything, minimap and the actual units/buildings, in red (opponent) and green (you) and yellow (allies) If you and your opponent get very similar colors, like yellow and orange, then it can be very hard to see what units belong to whom, especially in mirror matchups, but also generally on the minimap. If by accident the colors are very well distinguishable in the first place (like red and yellow) then you might not want to change the colors at all because you can tell everything well apart and you can let a bit of color in your life. Red/green/yellow just makes it very easy to tell apart what is yours and the opponents' and your allies' stuff (unless you're color-blind or red-green-blind I guess... for SC2 they did s.th. about this I think, for BW maybe not (?), didn't check the options). If you want to distinguish everything at one glance on the minimap but don't want to miss seeing lots of different colors then you can change to red/green/yellow-minimap-mode. If you're observing a game, sometimes there is a problem with the colors: normally you can switch to red and yellow I believe to distinguish the opposing teams better, but sometimes that gets messed up and both players appear in red (on the minimap only maybe?). Then you have to use the randomly selected colors and hope that they're not too similar. | ||

I was unable to watch the ASL finals live. I was hoping to watch it the day after on youtube, but the video never appared. I have still do not seen the finals, plz do not spoil me. Also in PvZ lategame I find it hard to hold onto expansions once i get to four. Like theres way too much surface area Z could attack from. Dark swarm, cracklings, etc. make cannons useless and i am not so sure that a reaver and a couple HT can stall for long enough for my main army to get there. What should I do? my army cant cover everything and i am sick of counter attacks and not being able to move out. 1800~ P even if I spread my army out perfectly, now I cant go on the offensive. there has to be a supply efficient way to deal with this fuckery. | ||

If undisturbed i usually make ~20 goons then 12 zeals(just in case) then continue to mainly pump goons and maybe a zeal or a HT in the mix and yes when i see Terran pushing i mainly go zeals because they train fast/come to reinforce fast and take a lot of dmg. To your second: If there's a ramp put some zeals or dt on the ramp and with that+2 HTs and a reaver you should not even need your army to arrive to stop small skirmishes or counters. Otherwise be prepared to loose an expo -such is life- and try to expand wherever your attack path is, similar to what terrans do in PvT. That's how I see it. | ||

PvZ as replied before, cannons + reavers + DT/HT, I usually build a bunch of cannons + 2 gates at the entrance + a robo at the back. Building DT/HT from the gates, still ofcourse you can loose an exp if the Z moves his full army, but you should be able to counterattack and be more cost-efficient with your army composition. @Alpha: You can search for some Bonyth replays, he was doing that quite often PvZ, not sure if he keeps doing it. Not sure about Pro replays either. | ||
