That actually happened in a pretty recent pro game once. The nydus canals, I mean. I've also seen offensive sunken attacks in recent pro games.[/QUOT]
i think it was effort vs an SKT zerg .. effort doing the nydus-ing[/QUOTE]
Hyuk vs Effort in the playoffs last year:

Effort also did an offensive spore once...

Was that so that his mutas could be more aggressive? They fight the enemy mutas at the opponent's base, and don't have to retreat very far if they're outnumbered.

I do not recommend offensive nydus, it is bm as fuck, and I'm not sure if it is legal. However, feel free to do offensive sunkens, he should see them coming from a mile away.

er, offensive nydus isn't bm, and it's definitely legal. Are you going to call dropping illegal and bm now?

The only thing that is illegal is the abuse of certain bugs, everything else is fair game.

ROFL how would that be illegal??? Do you even watch bw? I've seen 2 ZvZ's with offensive nydus's and they may be 'bm' but they were hella effective. One guy didn't even notice it building in his base and he lost because of it.
|
Not even slightly bm. Things like manner CC and Fantasy's dancing bc are bm, where they serve no obvious purpose other than saying, "I'm so far ahead in the game that I can do stupid shit like this. You should probably leave now."
Offensive nydus is different. It actually serves a tactical purpose. It makes your lings much more potent, and gives you an easy backstab attack if they're being too aggressive with their mutas and don't see your nydus. It doesn't happen much because we don't see much hive tech ZvZ, but when the occasional long ZvZ game happens, it's definitely a legitimate tactic to use.

larva cannot survive without creep yo no larva = no units = lose

@Gnabgib, thanks for that! very creative play. I recently played someone in zvz, and they used a tactic of placing a creep colony behind the mineral line (I think this only works for some maps, like LT). My inital thought was 'great he's going to harrass with it.' , but now I think about it, it can provide some vision of what I was doing in my base, and he could also preserve his drone scout for later use, by cancelling it. So yeah, creep isn't much use apart from building/preventing building in BW I guss, but I was just curious. Thanks everyone!

I tested the creep health regen. I plagued both to 1 HP and waited, 1 on creep, 1 off.
Before + Show Spoiler +
After + Show Spoiler +
So, just as I thought, no change.

Damn, 23 minutes to regen an ultralisk

Is regen rate the same for all units?

Yes. Confirmed in map editor.

It does not, but in war 3 Undead units gained 2hp/s regen while standing on the blight, or hovering over it in the case of air units.

Not sure anyone mentioned it, but using a hatchery with a lurker contain in ZvP to make spores/sunkens is only half bm. It seals the game, but protoss should have left or suicided his army long before that if he wasn't being an idiot.
