safe builds = some units early on so you are able to defend against a proxy rax or bbs or 8 gate or 6pool or whatever.
if the random user does not attack early nor lets himself be countered, the safe build user is at a disadvantage. thus the safe build user will most likely produce peons for a while hoping his opponent doesn't do any attacks during like a 30-second timespan, and if the random player then manages to time a good attack to happen during that 30-second period of time then he has a good shot at ending the game right there or at least damaging him hard enough to make him win even though he is not as technically skilled.

random zerg on isle is really good. you still end up being very luck dependant though, but most random users are willing to depend on luck. =]

drone, serious question. would you go random in a tournament, knowing which maps you were gonna play on (also knowing what matchups the map favors) and who your opponent would be (knowing their best and worst MUs as well)

on land map, one can easily send a eailer scout to seek out the random player, but on island...thats another story lol.

drone many ppl go dual 9 gate vs random and make 2 zlotz and if he is terran they make core cuz its only 33% chance they get terr and the disadvantage isnt growing so big and if its another map than temple u can add a forge and cannon rush and so on..
if u random..and the other player cheese strat u. ur gonna die since u think he is gonna play "tech" or "exp" strat

Dealer: within a year from switching to terran he got top 4 at the Sky ogn tournament. I think thats good enough to say he is very good with terran.

trek some people do in wgtour, never met anyone who cheesed in tourney. saying "many" cheese vs random is definitely wrong though, as I random in every single game and I've died vs cheese maybe 5 games in the last 1000. ;(

I think 2 gate is underrated vs random. U can easily cancel 2nd gate if u dont see scouting lord on the second spot of scouting and still do ok.

well, there are way too many matchups to practice. These guys are on a different level of gameplay. Our level of gameplay is nothing compared to theirs. They must practice hours and hours a day to master their matchups. If someone like boxer starts playing random, I'll bet you he will get massacred 10 times out of 10 in zvz or zvt even if he has the advantage of being random. Then he has to practice his zvz and zvt which leaves his terran to weakness. On top of that he has to learn pvz, pvt, and pvp.

With random you have 9 matchups to practice. With one race you have 3. Leaving your chances of winning to luck is something most pragamers will never do.
