That wouldn't really solve anything.

The only way to combat it is to actively find counter-measures, which is currently being done.

i can only assume the best way to have done this would have been to have put it into the iccup map pool whilst keeping it totally secret lol.

great work anyway

Someone set something up to get 90% of tl members to DOS the site? We've seen what happens to polls involving sc, when the community gets involved, why don't we directly fight their site?

iCCup is already antihack, isnt it?

go read TSL hackers exposed on iccup.com

I think you need to read it again, the people caught using maphacks were caught in non iCCup games the iCCup AH already blocks all 3 of those maphacks except for any programs specifically programmed to circumvent AH but those generally tend to be not released to the public by the whole reasoning that the AH coder can crack it open and use it to update his AH code.

The iCCup AH does a pretty good job of blocking maphacks if you read through the abusers forum its mostly posts about drop/lag hacks, mineral exploits and automining, and lets be honest mineral exploits and automining are easy as hell to catch and only give an advantage if the player is already decently good to begin with.

you should read again mr. iccup

edit: thanks for the antihacker maps, nontheless.

sorry offtopic:

i would really appreciate it if an admin could delete the above posting/picture. and pls delete that kid that posted that picture too. he just seems stupid and insulting.

why i'm writing this... i actually know some kids with down syndrom and i really cant understand how a sane person could make fun about them.

i didn't even know he had down syndrom. anyway i dont' mind deleting it. i found that picture when i searched for "moto" in the search function. i didn't go out of my way to search for a picture and then photoshop it. lol
now you gotta edit your quote as well. =P

Hi, I am sorry to hijack the thread but as much I have been lurking on those forums I didn't create an account.
And maybe you great mapmakers here can help me and my friend. We like to play against IAs and setting ourselves funny goals such as to defeat 7 ias alone. But it is frustrating because it gets too easy when playing together, 2vs6 is easy and team melee only accepts 1vs3.
The first problem is that ias tend to starv themselves so we use the map "megalopolis"DL map pack here but I can't fix the second problem with my limited staredit experience :
-> is it possible to modify the triggers to set 2 players to be "team melee" together and 7 ( or 11 ? ) IAs against us
The starting location can be predetermined, thank you very much in advance.

To help with antihacks you need either
a) Extensive scripting skills to write a program which serves as an antihack. Iccup already has one though.
b) Extensive mapmaking skills that work with UED's like moto did right now. But apparently those have already been figured out
c) Find a method of finding traces in replays that show a user has hacked. Flag did this.

I have programming skills so I'm confident I can pick up whatever language I need to learn.
Iccup is good but it requires both parties to have the software open. The ideal program would be able to detect if other person is maphacking, a kind of blind antimaphack, if you will.

From what I've garnered, this seems virtually impossible though. My assumptions:
* Hacker's Starcraft already knows where all of my units are. The only difference in the game is that Hacker cannot, without hacking, get vision of my units.
* If my units are locally held in RAM on Hacker's computer, he can access the location without ever transmitting the fact that he has access over the internet.

These assumptions also imply that replay filtering will also be impossible, assuming that the maphack is sufficiently advanced.

Map triggering seems most promising. What kind of advanced map editing tools would I need?

Sigh zynastor good programing talent and extensive know how of sc leads him to create hacks instead of useful mods like choasplugin, lat changer etc.
I have ass for brains so,
even when I shit I'm droping knowledge.
