The only way to combat it is to actively find counter-measures, which is currently being done.

The iCCup AH does a pretty good job of blocking maphacks if you read through the abusers forum its mostly posts about drop/lag hacks, mineral exploits and automining, and lets be honest mineral exploits and automining are easy as hell to catch and only give an advantage if the player is already decently good to begin with. you should read again mr. iccup "But do not simply assume this. We are sure there are newbies out there who never ever click, so if you are gathering data make sure to find replays of that player having many clicks either on LAN or with ICCup anti-hack enabled."

And maybe you great mapmakers here can help me and my friend. We like to play against IAs and setting ourselves funny goals such as to defeat 7 ias alone. But it is frustrating because it gets too easy when playing together, 2vs6 is easy and team melee only accepts 1vs3. The first problem is that ias tend to starv themselves so we use the map "megalopolis"DL map pack here but I can't fix the second problem with my limited staredit experience : -> is it possible to modify the triggers to set 2 players to be "team melee" together and 7 ( or 11 ? ) IAs against us The starting location can be predetermined, thank you very much in advance.

You know, that doesn't contradict Raelcun's words, but quite opposite...

a) Extensive scripting skills to write a program which serves as an antihack. Iccup already has one though. b) Extensive mapmaking skills that work with UED's like moto did right now. But apparently those have already been figured out c) Find a method of finding traces in replays that show a user has hacked. Flag did this.

I have programming skills so I'm confident I can pick up whatever language I need to learn. Iccup is good but it requires both parties to have the software open. The ideal program would be able to detect if other person is maphacking, a kind of blind antimaphack, if you will. From what I've garnered, this seems virtually impossible though. My assumptions: * Hacker's Starcraft already knows where all of my units are. The only difference in the game is that Hacker cannot, without hacking, get vision of my units. * If my units are locally held in RAM on Hacker's computer, he can access the location without ever transmitting the fact that he has access over the internet. These assumptions also imply that replay filtering will also be impossible, assuming that the maphack is sufficiently advanced. Map triggering seems most promising. What kind of advanced map editing tools would I need?
