If you only use battle.net for one blizzard game (e.g. starcraft), its the exact same as before, just that you have to go through their launcher (which requires constant updates) instead of just launching the game. Its just an unnecessary piece of bloatware. Granted starcraft always used "launchers" but none of those required any kind of login or constant updates. They just added one click to launching your game and actually provided very useful features instead of merely wasting your time. I would very much so prefer if starcraft would just prompt you to update when you launch it manually and then open a browser to download the patch the old school way. It'd allow me to just get rid of the battle.net app that I literally only use to update starcraft, but forces blizzard advertisement + battle.net app updates on me. | ||
