Updated, problem fixed. But still trying to find a better solution. Scroll down to second post if you have similar problem
This thread is about having same mouse sensitivity in SC:BW as in windows, if you have any ideas please let me know
Hi,
I've been trying to make it so that the resolution in bw fullscreen mode is the same as the resolution in my windows. That is, I've been trying to get my windows to 640x480 in order to have the same mouse sensitivity whenever I'm using my computer.
However I cannot seem to get it to work.
If I change windows resolution normally to 640x480, I get a small windows in the middle of the screen, with wide black corners on all directions. However when I'm playing starcraft, I only have black sides, not top and bottom.
I'm using windows 8
Thanks for any advice
--------- edit:
So after playing around with it, not getting it to work. I reset my windows resolution back to 1920x1080. However, now when I start the game. I get this:
![[image loading]](http://s15.postimg.org/lnfixuzlz/wierdo_reso.jpg) I had to make this in paint, since if I print screen I get a full picture. But basically the game is much smaller and there are black on all sides. Yet windows is back to normal...
Maybe someone can enlighten me how to get things back to normal heh...

Update:
I managed to fix it. I opened NVIDIA control panel and under "Adjust screen position and size" I pressed aspect ratio. It had somehow been set to "dont scale".
So, there is still one problem left.
If I play windowed fullscreen, how do I go about having the same mouse speed in windows as I do in BW? Basically, I would need 640x480 aspect ratio in windows mode.
------
Edit update: Fixed this aswell now So either delete thread or leave it here for people to see and I can explain how I did (for dummies like me).
1. Rightclick desktop 2. Screen resolution 3. Advanced settings 4. List all modes 5. Choose 640x480 6. Apply 7. Open videocard control panel (I use NVIDIA) you do this by rightclicking desktop and you will se the option. 8. Under "display", choose "adjust desktop size and position" 9. Check the box that sais "Aspect ratio" 10. Enjoy same size BW and windows and mouse speed

@StylishVODs im on windows 10 and been having a slight stretching problem with my BW, though it was still quite playable... but now it is perfect if I go through these settings before playing. 10/10 post... would read again.

So basically. Now I've got same size SC and windows.
However, running windows like this is quite annoying. Not only is everything quite pixely, and somewhat unreadable, but all things are too large aswell. Most pop-up windows I can't even see the whole video and have to use alt-space -> move to navigate around.. Does anyone know if there's a way to keep the dimentions of 640x480 but have it... less pixely.
Currently it looks like this: http://postimg.org/image/n0xxdqf6h/ The screen is very pixely, I hope it looks the same for you when you watch it heh..
When I see streamers play, and they tab to windows, they have much better resolution. Yet they have the same mouse speed and size in game as in windows...
Can someone help me out here? The reason I believe it can be solved is because when I open VLC to see a movie or something, resolution is fine and screen is still the same size with black on the sides and same mouse speed. So it has got to work for windows aswell right?

why dont you use full screen? If messed bnet is a problem then you can try ddraw hack or just wait for new blizzard patch

I just want same mouse speed in windows and SC basically. All these other things I'm doing is just my way to try to get it to be so. If anyone has a simpler way, please tell.

this should be fixed if you check keep aspect ratio in graphic card settings. Should be 4:3 for full screen
|
if you use my launcher you can try to kill DWM, not for all works, may crash windows. This should get rid off the graphic lag
|
I'm sorry I'm really bad with computers hehe...
I've already checked Aspect ratio in my graphic card settings. When playing starcraft everything is fine.
It's when I use windows that I want the same mouse speed, but as I had it before resolution in windows was 1920x1080 which made my mouse act alot different in windows. That way I can't get used to one mouse speed.
Yeah I'm using your launcher.

Oh and when I have your attention. APM and EAPM isn't showing anymore after a game, you know how to fix this? =)

just use fullscreen, no problem for me

If I use fullscreen, it will use 640x480 and stretch it with aspect ratio. I'll have black on left and right side of the screen and the mouse cursor will move much faster.
DPI is basically pixels per inch, and 640x480 is much less pixels.

I had the same problem and fixed it the same way.
edit: you might want to add this to your second post, for integrated graphics (I have Iris 5100), it was crucial for me to set in the 3D tab otherwise I would get a mouse lag on top of the sensitivity issue: V-Sync: use application settings Application Optimal Mode: Off.

I used a directdraw hack to manually upscale BW before. Maybe that's helpful for the mouse speed issue by upscaling it to 1920x1080 thus using the same default resolution like in Windows.

You need to play a bit with the config file to find the right options.
Beware that this hack was written for command and conquer (red alert and ts gold in particular) so it might cause some unwanted behavior in starcraft, although I found no such thing when I played it (but I'm not very sensitive to those issues as well)
Also it's obviously incompatible to Aqrits Ddraw fix because they leverage the same .dll.
