OP for the Live Report threads better be on point, just so that I don't have to go through effort of having to discover the specific start time!
Also R.I.P. TLPD
EDIT: Nice NO WAIT DID I JUST MISS HERO VS MONG

Regarding the new site layout: I'm mostly sad how personal settings weren't saved and how I had to redo all my site settings left and right sidebar settings all over again (not the first time this happened btw). + Show Spoiler +![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/P3oXJYU.png?1) To be fair, I bet for SC2 fans who don't care about BW it'll be vice versa. I'm also hoping TLPD will return soon.

Hey guys. How's the scene these days? I watched a stream yesterday and kinda enjoyed just looking at Broodwar again. Installed the game, played a game and now I'm kinda on the fence if I should relearn it.
Is iccup still active? How about the korean scene?

Iccup still pretty active now that we have the TLC and the TLS under way. Korean scene is better than before with the last Ro8 match being done for the SSL then we're jumping right into the Ro4 for that. Things are great and are only going to get better!

Anyone here have a web server? I want to research the League system, PM me.

I'm watching Dota 2 TI now, and their beginner stream is pretty good as they explain the game to people who never played it. Maybe if anyone is interested, they may cast a seperate stream of the usual Sayle stream to focus more on explaining what's happening.

Sayle is the real deal here he is a hype caster and analyzer in one package although i have been out of the bw loop for a long time but i think there isn't some one who could spare their time to stream a beginner 101 to starcraft broodwar because the person who is going to stream and cast about it has to be very knowledgeable about the game and also at the same time sound entertaining to keep people interested in to the knowledge that they are going through and not taken into the account he has to cast the on going battle in the game at the same time . Pretty taxing for one person to be doing it...
Edit : not pouncing you or anything . .... TLDR : I think there isn't much casters available to do this kind of stream considering how few of us are left.

You might try the Blizzcon Invitational videos from over the years, or WCG videos if you don't mind a retrospective, as that is the kind of casting they aimed to do.
Brood War has lots of depth, but it's not so hard to enjoy watching even if you don't have a caster explaining the nuances of it to you. Just play 5 games with your friends, you will basically know what's going on in the game as much as any cast aimed at beginners would inform you. Likewise you can find a lets play or those casts I mentioned above if you can't install the game, and then start watching Sayle or the Korean casters as a different kind of stepping stone. But playing the game a few times is worth it just to get a feel for what the players are doing and how good they are.

Is iccup still active? How about the korean scene? A new Nation Wars is starting to get organized.

It's difficult to find people who will cater down to that level for casting. Because we as casters need to be entertaining and exciting to our audience which, considering how old this game is and how few newcomers there are, forces us to automatically assume our audience is already familiar with Starcraft. I mean, I'm all for this idea, but only if we had a much greater inflow of new people and help them stay.

I did not need catering. Just go on Liquipedia and read as much as you can along with FPV VODs.
Some of the articles need to be updated tho. I should probably get on that.

protoss and zerg rely heavily on ability like swarm and stasis, terran not so much on mine, you can win without it at least against zerg if they do not use swarm, and maybe against toss too with mass supply for blocking and liath tank

So what I would like to see is something like:
Individual leagues TvZ: XX% Individual leagues ZvP: XX% Individual leagues PvT: XX%
Team leagues TvZ: XX% Team leagues ZvP: XX% Team leagues PvT: XX%
It's quite simple (I guess) but I don't know how to easily find this in the TLPD.
Thank you! Alas, I don't think this is possible as an automated calculation in TLPD without access to the SQL tables themselves or the raw dataset -- For individual standard leagues (non-show matches): v 1254-1042 or 54.6% v 1192-1139 or 51.1% v 1871-1597 or 54.0% For team standard leagues (non-show matches) v 709-644 or 52.4% v 742-702 or 51.4% v 800-684 or 53.9%
Hmm... just a tiny dash of imba, eh? But not too bad.
Does conform to the often-mentioned 'Z > P > T > Z' thing, though.

Sometimes I think about the epic, legendary games not played since 2012. The talent of Jaedong, Flash, Fantasy, Storku and Jangbi wasted at their primes on SC2. As there is a parallel universe where Blizzard never decided to make SC2 so that we could have enjoyed TBLS duke it out more. Considering how many legendary games each year have been produced, it is a travesty to have such talents waste their time. Look at what Fantasy is doing now: basically being a recruit for some no name western team, such as some US West korean semi pros played for some no name European tournaments on the weekend for a few euros. Not to think about what Stork even does these days.......
At least we have BW coming back :D

At least we have BW coming back :D Stork will probably go to HearthStone, he was a big fan of WoW for a while.
While Jaedong and Stork have shown their BW skills gone at Homestory Cup BW showmatch, I'm not entirely convinced Flash is beyond hope. We never seen him play BW for a while, we'll see when he gets on the Afreeca train.

Their skill isnt gone, for someone that plays sc2 games whole day then play a bw game the game feels terrible different,u need like 15 10 games to adapt again,im pretty sure Jaedong backs to bw and in 2 3 months will have effort skill minimum.
