why would you want the sc2 unit audio?

If you look at the way missions were designed I can honestly say that SC2 had the best RTS campaign. I have never seen as much mission variety and the cutscenes were pretty good to. If you look at BW in comparison the missions were very similar to each other and while the cutscenes were amazing as well because they conveyed an amazing story to the audience, but they obviously weren't as amazing in terms of graphics and you must understand that different people prioritize different aspects some don't even care about the story as long as the gameplay is amazing and SC2 has better gameplay (Meaning more noob friendly and if you just pick up the game it is a lot more enjoyable)

So

SC2 is better than BW in terms of graphics, gameplay and mission variety (And if SC2 didn't do this right after 14 years the game would have been a disaster)

The funny comments from units if you keep constantly clicking on them is a bonus point for Sc2, but i agree, most of the BW voices are better
And the zerg ones are definitely superior to their counterpart.

I agree they have a special feel to them AND surprisingly the BW ones are pretty HQ for the year that they were recorded in!

Not suprising at all. In older times , quality of sound was much easier to produce in a game compared to graphics , thus why older blizzard games have much superior sounds compared to their new editions. e.g. sc:bw->sc2 d2->d3 etc

Sorry but this is dumb to me , tbh (no offense). The campaign IS the story. And one should not care about the gameplay, if the story is as amazing as SC/BW's was.

Anyways, this is quite offtopic now, so I will quit it.

Mission partially accomplished.I PMed all those streamers about having SC2 audios to BW and luckily Scan, the ex SKT1 progamer gave me those sc2 soundpack which is sadly in Korean language.Those files were OGG format converted to WAV. You need not to touch the MPQ.I only pasted the folder into sc directory and works like a charm.I then experimented making it English VOs.I downloaded SC2 mod for SC1 in which it has a standalone installer.You need to open the .exe installer on MPQeditor then go to sounds and extract them. You dont need to convert those soundfiles since it's already on a WAV format. And hell yeah! My Protoss is in SC2 English now, my Terran is in Korean and Zerg still on Korean.Im still persuading a modder to include the three races' VOs.

I think the discussion is about the respective campaigns. Only a small percentage of what makes BW the greatest RTS of all time is in the "Kill every building on this giant map including that one fucking turret by itself in the middle of nowhere" mission of vanilla SC1.

BW's campaign actually had much more variety in its level design than SC1. There's a Terran mission where you keep getting spellcasters and have to use them smartly to get past enemies. That's a cool level!

There's also a level where you have a fleet of scouts and there are literally 1000+ turrets on the map. That level is terrible. I hate that level so goddamn much.

The installation levels generally, I didn't care for at all in SC1/BW.

Most of BW's missions are "Make dudes and a-move". I really wish there was a campaign for BW that really required you to use the cooler BW tricks.

Actually, now that I think about it, the smartest thing I ever heard Dustin Browder say was him noting that most BW missions were passively macroing and a-moving, leading to players going into multiplayer with an NR15 mindset, and so the SC2 campaign was designed so that you have to hit at various timings, teaching you the "proper" way to play for when you got to multiplayer.

I'd really like to see a BW campaign that was set up to teach you the proper way to play the multiplayer, actually. That might be a fun project, if I only knew the proper way to play multiplayer ;_;

That's an idea for its own thread, though.
