Haha, I remember Day[9] going full BW a few MLGs ago during a PvP involving Huk. Basically, he ended up calling the Robo Facility an "Observatory" during a base race involving DTs. I distinctly remember him going full Brood War by shouting "HE NEEDS TO SAVE THE OBSERVATORY! HUK NEEDS TO PROTECT HIS OBSERVATORY!" or something like that. Quite amusing.
Nice to see HD trying out some BW stuff. It would be cool to see other casters do similar things, as it wouldn't do any harm if they did.
Whats wrong with him saying "back in the old days". He is obviously refering to his time with broodwar, and how it brings back memories for him. Stop being soo quick to turn this into a hate thread over a simple misconception.
Cool to see HD casing some BW games. I remember before SC2 beta started, he casted some BW games to prepare for it. He was pretty active too and he often tried to give away some beta keys as much as possible in some of his BW videos. It sucks that he gets a lot of crap when he is commentating in SC2. He may not be as knowledgeable like day9, but I think he is a good person to have in the community nonetheless.

So many casters call the Unit Tab the "Unit Counting Station" that even people without a BW background are doing it now. Tasteless calls the Twilight Council a Citadel more often then not.

He isn't being ignorant, he is stating the fact that sc2 is here and most of his audience knows that as the present and BW as the past and rather than explain it differently, he just accepts the norm and uses it as nostalgia.

As many others I find it rather disturbing hearing you talk about BW as "the old days" and "back in the days" since we're still here, we play the game every day, we follow both the korean and the foreigner scene, we have casters, videos, articles, the game is alive. But I understand you see it from another view and I wouldn't make a big deal out of it. Thanks for casting and I'm looking forward to more casts!
In old days we use to read books while riding on the commuter but now days we play psp . Quite a change huh ? Old days indeed I can never go anywhere without reading a book .
So many fucking parrots in here. I think we all get the point that the some of the hardcore BW community is offended when HD refers to BW as 'back in the day'. Keep in mind that he needs to relate to his audience, most of whom don't know BW is still played today.
I commend HD for a job well done. His casting may contain slight errors, but it is filled with enthusiasm and excitement and reminds me of Klazart and Cholera. I hope that in the future, HD will cast BW on a more regular basis, perhaps with more recent games. Hopefully, the audience will learn that the BW is active and going strong, and even join our community.
i dont get the logic behind people defending HD in saying he is allowed to say "old days" just because his target audience are a bunch of first time sc players (both games) doesnt mean he has to show ignorance and refer to BW as a dead game. not that hard to explain that BW is still on going and those saying that hes referring to his old experiences to BW when he says "old days", thats a load of shit he specifically refers to builds STILL USED REGULARLY NOW and says "in the old days shuttle reaver was popular" etc etc stop defending him. hes doing a good thing and he probs didnt mean to offend BW players but a mistake is a mistake

I am a mostly SC2 guy, so whenever I don't watch BW for a long time, I forget just how good these guys are. That macro...while fighting in at least 2 location for most of the game...with units that require that much attention? Yeesh! It always makes me wish I was good enough to play Brood War without getting so frustrated, hahaha. I don't know how I used to do it.
