Appreciated. But the map was intended to work for 1v1s as well - the many start locations being the "tweak" to differ gameplay in 1v1s. Every fourth game will have the players starting on the same set of mains - hopefully creating a different, intense, game. Please playtest and give us some feedback! .

The only bad thing is it would be a bitch to scout. Other than that this map owns hunters

yeah whats this phantom you guys are talking about?

- Very good map Starparty, the concept of having more start positions to create variety in 1on1s do work in this map, but in the positions where the ramps face each other can make for boring 1on1s (Terran siege and everythings over for Protoss) or, it could be really fun games. I don't really know, this is a thing that has to be play tested. It could be changed for the better.
Anyway it is a great 3vs3 and 4vs4 map, much better then The Hunters.
You could as bongee said, remove the minerals and make the expansions into island. Or... remove those expansions all together. I don’t know if you really want to have the ramps pointing at one another, 6, 12, 9 and 3 o clock. Or if you've done it because you believe you don't have any other choice. Yellow and Whites ramps at 6 and Purple/Team at 12 can pretty easily have their ramps pointed away from each other. Positions 9 and 3 are a bit trickier.
My Idea was a bit different but I'm glad to help if I can.

Are the ramps really that much of a problem? If they are covered by tank fire you can always expo the other way around the map - and leave your base through another main. Or is this too demanding for toss/zerg?

Phantom is a melee-style UMS game where everyone is allied to each other. At the start, one person is randomly picked to be the 'Phantom' and has to kill everyone else. To help them with this, no one knows they are the phantom and they get extra resources. It's the ultimate backstabbing game. When you are the phantom, you can either hide and pretend like you aren't the phantom or you can just use your extra resources right away and hope you can take everyone out quick.

I'm pretty fine with it; Protoss can attack quickly and tear that wall to shreds. It will make for intense games but for people that aren't that good micro wise, it won't be easy. It's not that its to demanding for Protoss/Zerg it's just that it is not demanding at all for Terran, we do not need a new map that favors Terran.
I'm all in for ideas that destroy old norms and tries new things, people are by nature very lazy that's why we complain when things look hard. Get over it and try your best, that way you'll always win.
What I mean with all this is, keep the ramps I'm fine with it.

Its a map based on the same principles: 8player 8 hills 128x128 size. there is not many other ways of solving the placement issue.. however our map is in no way based on that creation.
Just to pinpoint it out: If you doubt us, look closely for terrain resemblances and you will find absolutely nothing at all.

Well, honestly, how many different layouts can you have on a 128x128 8 player map? The more players on a map, the more limited the design becomes, which is why I enjoy making 2 player maps. The Overmind is better than that 8 player LT anyway because the LT one is too Terran biased.

Yes, and both maps look nothing like LT. I think the Overmind is a very nice map, but I wonder how the really close positions will affect games.

FireBlast!
Phantom is a ums.
I wouldn't be fan of that map. Would be cool to have some other maps with more than 4 players. But I suppose it's ok.
