When there's a bunch new maps I might update the pack, but since it's only one new map I'll just leave the link here.
As you may know KeSPA has a maps section of their website where you can download all the official maps they've ever used and see stats and lovely things like that. Unfortunately, you have to download them one at a time and it's a huge pain. What's worse is that some of the links are broken, the files aren't named consistently, and it's just generally annoying. Well I saved you the hassle.
In this pack you will find:
2v2 maps in a separate folder
2 player, 3 player and 4 player maps in separate folders so that all maps remain viewable on b.net
Pictures of almost every map for you to flip through
Korean priority named names (ie Sin Baek instead of Peaks of Baekdo)
Consistent naming scheme
Observer versions of almost all maps, Training version (you select starting positions) of most maps
The latest version of every map (no old versions)
Alternate versions of the few maps (usually much older ones) which had broken links that I could find on the internet
Tonnes of maps that iCCup does not have, both new and old
http://www.mediafire.com/?e3yih98k72sdhbf This link doesn't have the 2/3/4 player maps in separate folders (bnet won't be able to browse them all) and Forest of Demons isn't named properly. Easily fixable yourself if you're from the future and the first link is dead somehow.
This is awesome, it always takes me so long to find the maps I want to play on. This is a great thing you've done for us. Thanks so much man!!!!!!!!!!!
It's probably best to put the 2player maps, 3 player maps, and 4 player maps in separate folders since bnet has a maximum number of files per folder it can display and this pack exceeds that limit. I'd have done it for the pack, but I didn't realise it was over the limit until after Demon Forest also needs a (4) in front of its files to maintain alphabetical order. Maybe I will reupload it with those minor fixes later~
edit: I'm uploading it now... Don't get excited and do it for me unless you just want to make a mirror.
Just make melee and you'll be fine I think. I've never had trouble playing user made maps on iccup and I don't see why KeSPA maps would be any different. If you're right and it's not just in One on One mode though, that's really dumb and should be fixed.
Sorry, there's no Monte Cristo. It's not on KeSPA's site yet.

No, melee works fine. It's just ladder/point games that cannot be made. Makes sense though, but still sucks.
Anyhow, it still perplexes me why Kespa hasn't properly fixed Monte Cristo's DL link lol

Fyi, the La Mancha 1.1 and Dante's Peak SE 2.0 from kespa site can be hosted fine in 1v1 mode on ICC.
Can't do this with other maps though as ICC hasn't added them to ICC map pool yet. :|
If I recall the only 6 player map I know of is "The Huntress", a 6 player Twilight version of "The Hunters". Btw "The Hunters" is 8 player, and you had better know it ^^ Oh And I really believe "Seven Sins" should be in here, because everyone needs a copy of Seven Sins.
But still Chef, thanks so much for spreading the old map love. I've been wanting to do an "Old Map Love" thread for quite some time now, in the style of my 815 blog I did a while back. It'd have sections for all the old maps we love and miss, the ones that we grew up watching our idols the pros playing but were before our time and were never hosted or joined on battle.net (geee thanks Python, Desti, Fuckin' Shit etc.). It'd have categories for each map, fit with gossip about them (ahooh T was so strong on this map, Boxer abused this ledge/doodad right here type of thing) and really awesome games from those maps, as well as a basic list of builds/strategies that were good on that map and why.
I tell you all this, because you have proven yourself entirely worthy, and because I'll need a lot of help, but mostly because though I love those maps, I barely know anything about them because they were before my time, and I need someone with Old Map Love insida-dem.
User made, of course. Hunters, Deep Purple, Huntress, and Vampire are pretty much the only pro maps of that description. I believe Deep Purple and Huntress were used for 3v3 back in the day, sometimes.
Err Murderotica/Fana it's been here all along : TLPD yo! unless it just got ninja-added :S
Some notes for naming and such Chef (why uze ignorez my offer of 'Old Map Love' ); Ugh I'm such a picky purist when it comes to old maps
It was always spelt Sin Chupung-Ryeong (TLPD says so)... It was called Demon's Forest You have the old version of Mercury (I think that's the 2v2 version, the usual one [please correct if I'm wrong] does not have that 2nd ramp leading to the back of the natural like that). Mongwan should be called Fantasy. Paljino should be called Nemesis. Are you sure that's the most recent version of River of Flames? " " R-Point Sin Cheongpoongmyungwol should be Sin Harmony " " The Rangork " " Wishbone
Just in general, this map pack is absolutely stunning and amazing, but I'd stil be nice if you could check if the ones that are at v1.0 or so are actually the most recent ones (damm you Andromeda, perfect 1.0 from the start).
Hope it helps! From now on we seriously HAVE to play these in OP Teamliquid. Were you ever really into BWMaps? (massive lurker here) Because I have a bunch of those and they're all pretty cool. Maybe a map-pack from there as well? Or would it be better to ask Nightmarjoo, Newbowman Morrow (Testbug!!1!) etc?
P.S. I really think you should include a playable version of Demon's Forest, even if it was a BWMaps map: (GRRRR can't find it! looked forever, I KNOW I have it on my other computer, and then I got distracted by explaining how bad Lady Gaga is)
Never mind I got it. Dear old search function to the rescue reveals Nightmarjoo's Demon's Shiver
Plus BWMaps has a few of the pictures you need e.g. Outburst

It's not the Mercury I'm familiar with either, but it was the most recent iteration of it. I figure if people really wanna play old versions of maps they can get it themselves. Some of the maps have A LOT of versions and it would just be really cluttered. For maps like Peaks, Fantasy etc, as I explained in the OP, I've opted to use whatever name KeSPA has for it on their site.
As long as we don't have lag issues, I'm always up to play a lot of games. I don't know about your project with the history of maps. It'd be cool, but I don't know what I could offer for it or if I even have the time.
I used to map a lot, but I got tired of it because it's hard to find people to play your maps and there's too much drama when people give feedback. Most people just want to play pro maps and I understand that. I once made a mappack for BWMN. The 2nd iteration of it is broken (I probably have it all lying around somewhere) but the first iteration is still there. I basically took any map that had a defensible natural and didn't look like shit at the time. http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=61356
If you wanna make your own pack with the foreign community's names for maps and the missing pictures and the extra maps from BWMN you liked (I suggest those in a special BWMN folder) then I'll be happy to add it to the OP. However, I'm satisfied with the pack as it is, since it's main purpose is just to give people the ability to make any pro map they want if someone they're playing with asks for something like Blade Storm or whatever.
Thank you so much! I carry a few flash drives of Brood War to play with my friends at the school library when we have time in between classes, now I can update them all with one pack for the good maps instead of picking a few and downloading them individually.
Thank you. In a future life a man will hand you a piece of tattered parchment. On it will be inscribed a tale of a man who collected all the Kespa maps into a single collection. A wormhole will open. Step through it. TossGirls' great granddaughter (the winner of the GSL 300 season) is waiting for you on the other side with a copy of Starcraft 3. Go to her. Thus the universe has rewarded you appropriately.

Thnx for sharing. Downloaded and added to my 20.zillion gig "All things Starcraft folder"

But the drama at mapsites/forums was great entertainment for outsiders like me.
After awhile it gets frustrating when theory crafting noobs say the same thing over and over without ever actually playing the map.
oh my god, who in the holy fuck cares about your pathetic theorycrafting over at waarboard or whatever the site is called. Why dont you post the replays for the 1000+ games you played on the map to show us the statistical imbalance factor in this map. If you somehow managed to loose all those replays from all of those games you MUST have played on this map in order to label it, then just get the fuck out.
This is a ridiculously awesome map, it must be the drugs or my lack of playing starcraft, but recently i've loved maps that do crazy shit like this. You defy all the rules yet escape heavy criticism! Way to use "new" mapping technologies in a cool way.
I won't invisible your post this time, but I've explained it to you now so I will next time. Honestly, any post that makes every reader go "well, no fucking shit, detective" and then acts extremely negatively in spirit, deserves to be removed from the site. There's no reason to say "shitty d-web" or to restate the obvious for the 4th time in the same page. You can say all the bad things you want about my map, just say them intelligently ... YOU FUCKIN DICKWAD!!.
Omg I just downloaded all the maps I thought I needed two days ago but there in the most horrendous order (and I couldn't find a lot that I wanted) you can imagine, problem solved by Chef! :D Thanks so much for sharing this with us bro, you rock! ^^

Hi. I am from the future and neither links seems to be working. I'm pretty sure I downloaded this map pack, but that was probably 2 computers ago and I'm trying to hunt for some older maps that I don't seem to have.
Thank you very much. I'm not sure offhand if any are missing, but the one I was looking for is here in there. obs are maps for observation, but what are the TR version of the maps? Training?

training. you get to choose the positions in the map
Oh that's cool. If the 2v2 maps are like that, it would actually be perfect for when I play 2v1 with my friends. They don't like it when they spawn in cross-positions making it harder to help each other out.
