I only use it in FPS and I love it in FPS, but for broodwar it just creates more problems than its worth. I can work faster without it with it on max speed, than slowing down and trying to work on selecting one unit at a time.

yes they use half speed but not on winxp, half on logitech drivers which make a huge difference. Now i understand what u meant np

Interesting topic, i think it too. I turned off accel. i am more precise, but my mouse is so slow. I hate it, no more confortable feeling, like with accel.

enhanced pointer precision is different than no accel and is different than normal accel too. there are many diff varia bles u can edit to adjust it (it's an xp thing). it oculd be on without you knowing it. so if ur mouse doesnt seem to move how "no accel" should, then .. u should know whats up. u accelling bastard

that being said, i think it could be useful to have the "jerk" type movement move farther than normal while having all other movements a static speed that is lower. normal accel just doesnt do this. you move TOO slow while making small movements and TOO FAR when you jerk. u can never get both of them within acceptable range.

but perhaps using the "improved mouse precision" variables u could get a more desirable effect. i havernt really experimented or found any doccumentation on them and apparently am too lazy to even tell u guys which reg keys they are. oh well....... i contributed whateva

Full speed no accel...
In FPS as much accel as I can handle... I havent played seriously for years so I dont crank it up as high now... Getting old ect.
Cant understand those CS players who use superlow speed... Can rant a week about that issue...

Yes, I'm so used to it when I'm just browsing the Internet or just using the comp so much. It doesn't really detract from my accuracy when playing SC. If I turn off acceleration, I think it will make me less accurate.

I use acceleration. But I wish I didn't since it causes pretty big problems when switching between XP and other windows platforms, which was a bit of a pain at the WCG prelim I attended.

mx300 fastest sensitivity, high accel.

I think its mostly just a problem of getting used to a particular setting. Once you take the time to get used to something it doesnt really matter. The only fps I play these days is Medal Of Honor, and i normally play in a sniper role, so precision counts, and I dont seem to have too much problems with that. Even in graphics apps like photoshop I dont mind the high sensitivity/high accel.

accel is once mouse velocity reaches certain thresholds, cursor speed is doubled
low means doubled once at X
med means it doubled at X and again at Y
high means you are insane

accel = no consistency
no consistency + pressure = disaster

acceleration doesn't mean you have terrible precision (consistency?).

i always used acceleration and couldn't play without it, at least not with normal settings as the mousecursor is too god damn slow then.

acceleration may set you back a tiny bit on precision but it's no disaster :\
acceleration for president. it really rocks.
