With so called mouse acceleration on, it only slows down your mouse when your moving slow. If its off, all you need to do is twitch and your mouse is across the screen which is the way I love it. Acceleration is a missterm, because it only slows your mouse down EDIT: I'm prolly not talking about the same thing as the rest of you. I'm using a normal balless microsoft mouse and it uses the winxp control panel to modify its options

But I think if u practice with it, u'll leatn to play with it without any problems. Skill and precision don't actually depend on ur mouse or mouse settings....

I don't play BW as much anymore, since I switched and joined a local CS-clan in Stockholm and play at fairly high level, though mostly for for fun. In CS, you use low sensitivity (in the game, default in windows) to get high precision at far distances, and also so that no matter how fast you move the mouse the pointer still travels the same distance thus enabling you to be very accurate at 30 deegree angle fastshots towards the opponents head. In game terms that means I can only turn about 90 degrees to each side or just about turn around and shoot someone coming from behind, it's a bit of a tradeoff situation but more beneficial in the long run. Mouse acceleration is no good for those situations, but there is one guy in my clan who actually uses it, but that's because he plays with sniperrifle a lot and thus can make extremely fast so-called dragshots where he simply flicks his wrists and nails the opponent as soon as he enters the scope. Also he can look around more freely while in scopemode. For rifles though it sucks and most FPS. Back when I had win98 on my system I used low acc though for BW and really liked it, but now XP is different in XP so I don't use it anymore. Oh, also statistically about 99% of all elit players in CS don't use mouse acceleration.

dreamkty China25 Posts October 16 2004 00:42 GMT #60 I used low acce&a little high mouse speed,IMO,when u play BW, it's much more important to move fast rather than click precision cause you don't need to click single unit,in most situations,"drag" is enough to micro well. But it's a really interesting topic and I'll post it to Chinese forum to discuss it.
