Spoiler Alert!!!
+ Show Spoiler + Korean Air OSL Ro36 Group J Winner: BaBy “I’ll play in the league in order to learn”Q: How do you feel about advancing to your first Ro16 A: I feel really excited. I’ll try my best in the main league in order to rise to a higher place. My first goal is Ro8. Q: You dominated Jaedong, who was one of the favorites to win A: We practice a lot together so I analyzed him a lot, and I was able to win thanks to luck. I personally think that I still lack a lot of skill, so I want to become better in televised matches. Q: You can go for the youngest Royal Roader A: Rather than the youngest, I want to shoot for the most number of wins or the most number of titles now. Q: Your last game was impressive A: I think that when you’re in a disadvantage, you should risk something in order to shorten the gap. I played that game thinking that way, but because it worked so well, the game turned into my favor Q: What do you think would have happened if Jaedong had 1 more Lurker in his first attack A: I have no idea. It was the first time facing a strategy like that, but I was used to it from Hero’s Lurkers in the previous match. Q: Your last game against hero was also fierce A: That was also my first time playing against the strategy, but I chose to make Wraiths instead of Dropships. I thought that it would be too late to use Vessels to kill Defilers. Q: What was the hardest game? A: My 2nd game against Jaedong was the hardest. Because I took the lead so quickly from a disadvantageous situation, I was shaken mentally as well. Q: What did you think when you were set for Ro16 A: I thought “I finally advanced”. Q: You only had to practice TvZ A: It was comfortable. I think that had a huge affect on me today. Q: You’re a dual leaguer now. A: I don’t think my skills fit to be a dual leaguer yet, so I’ll practice my hardest until the Group Selections and show good games. Q: It must be your first group selection A: I will have to ask people for advice. Q: Anything else? A: I thank my fans who came to cheer for me, and rather than thinking about winning, I’ll play in order to learn.

Speedy as usual. Thanks for the translation!

Qualifier rounds are always rounds of upsets. Thanks for the translation!
P.S. I hate how progamers give super generic answers to everything...I mean...come on...
|
Thanks Lyriene!
Baby seems like a good kid, hope he does well in both leagues

I thank thee, translator bonjwa!

I hope Baby fails miserably in both leagues.

Baby will go very very very far. He is extremely young, incredibly talented, already very skilled, and knows his weaknesses. At this stage, most people would say "lololol I'm better than JD, I'll win everything, look at me". Baby, instead, wants to improve because he is not yet satisfied of himself, and of his skill.
Insatisfaction, that what makes champions. Self satisfied people don't get anywhere.
Good luck to him.

Y_Y Jaedong. Oh well good luck BaBy... I really can't believe there's going to be an OSL without Jaedong... (At least this way he can concentrate on winning MSL again?)

Yeah. I am totally rooting for Stork to take both Finals.
Or at least dual silvers lol.
I don't hate Baby...but...I honestly don't see him going very far at all in the dual leagues. He has no experience with the big leagues and he lacks confidence. Moreover, he may still have PL obligations as well. He is not mentally prepared for the stress load that is associated with dual leaguers. His skill level isn't quite up to par with the best yet. I think he will fail pretty miserably very early in the leagues.
|
Wow baby isnt even gloating that hes winning, and all the Jaedong fans lay the hate on him so hard. Calm down
|
Yeah, can't believe some of the negative attitudes towards Baby. As if Baby is somehow to blame for actually playing to win...and winning!
|
first goal is ro8. taking baby steps, i see! :D
|
OMG yeahhhh baby!! Been so happy for him ever since his proleague domination and his qualification into the survivor leagues of osl/msl. Most underrated player, definitely gonna be big in a matter of years (think how much TIME he has to get absolutely beast at this game).
|
Baby is starting to look like a mini flash
|
Baby is so modest, but he's been doing pretty well recently, and is at his ELO peak (even though its only 2137). I hope he transitions into SC2 eventually.
|
Why do I get this feeling that the OSL, being sponsored by a Korean airline, would probably end up as a TvT? Anyone else feel this? lol
|
i don't really see another terran getting to the finals
besides that special someone

Yeah, almost fell asleep after the second question; feel bad for the interviewers who want some answers that aren't the same every time.
Anyone know if the korean community complains about this also?

I hope so. lol but i would love to see fantasy vs flash in a final. :D

I am fine with all the terrans. It just makes it all the more easy for Stork to win this OSL.

Not with Flash and fantasy around. Maybe Light as well with the way he's been playing. Hope he makes it through!
|
+ Show Spoiler +Good luck Baby. Well played today and best of luck in the Ro16.
Comeback next OSL JD!
|
This was really shocking. Who would have thought that baby will take down Jaedong... But props to him for getting to both leagues.

He can't be Bonjwa until he completely destroys l10f, I think l10f said in one of the past translations he still had 2 more interviews done so they should be still close to even.
Thanks for the translation.

+ Show Spoiler +but really, the title of this series was MAP >>> JD

Baby deserved at least his win against hero ... hero can only make that one "yeah, i lost again"-face

I just came across Atrioc's StarCraft trading card game today, and the text on this card popped out at me: + Show Spoiler + Looks like JD threw a heads...
|
I've loved Baby ever since his set vs Jangbi in Gom last year. It would be great to see him do well in his first OSL.

I don't really get why people have an issue with this interview, as it seemed pretty blunt. He said he wasn't aiming for royal roader, but rather for most wins and most titles (strong words for someone so unaccomplished), and admits he's not as good as Jaedong (how can you bash him for saying this, generic answer?) and says practicing with Jaedong relatively often helped him take advantage of some of Jaedong's tendencies, along with luck. (maps etc.) And ofc he points out he couldn't believe he actually won game 2, so given the temporal proximity between the game and the interview, it's not surprising if he's not fully composed for an interview - "mentally shaken." Seemed rather straightforward, without any sugar-coating, to me.
I mean it's like, yeah, he's not boasting or anything, but he's realistic about his skill level when compared to Jaedong, and that comparison was what the questions were leaning toward. And he's also realistic about his chances for winning the OSL. What's wrong with that?

LOL all the JD fanboys calling Map>>>> JD. Maybe he shouldn't have morphed his lurkers there? We all know what happens when Lurkers morph close together or are burrowed close together, so I expect Jaedong to know this as well and not just expect everything to go as planned all the time. And I don't see how the second game was the maps fault at all. Good use of mineral line in my opinion. Nothing we haven't seen before. But yea Jaedong was a bit unlucky in that first game but that second game just showed Jaedong wasn't up to the task last night. He had a pretty big advantage and couldn't capitalize on it like we normally see Jaedong do time and time again. Wasn't Jaedongs best showing, but that's no reason to blame the maps. And if Jaedong really wanted he could have asked for a regame when his first lurker got stuck.
|
I dont really hate Baby because he is sexy with Wraiths. im just disappointed about Jaedong
|
Dam I was hoping that Baby would trash talk a bit on how he beat the best zerg in the world, would have made the interview a hell lot more interesting. I mean, if I was Baby I'd b like yep I beat JD I'm the best, bring on the FlashStorkEveryoneElse... k nvm. lol
Still, very surprised Baby took 2 straight from JD (even with JD getting a lurker stuck, from what I see in the LR thread and the screenie here in OP), can't wait until the VODs come up!

Well, he got dominated by Flash a few nights before so I'm not sure if he would want to meet him again.
But I am laso dying to see the games especially the 2nd one.

Damn first Bisu and now Jaedong.
Im happy for Baby and at least he isnt so cocky about beating Jaedong like gogo was about beating Bisu. "I am the man that beat Bisu" D:

wooooooooooooow Baby took down Jaedong in 2 sets unbelievable
now the kid HAS to win the OSL

I've always rooted for Baby (primarily because for such a young age, he's willing to accept the name "Baby" and because of his demeanor) but did he really have to knock out JD =|.

Everyone's sad that the titan goes down to a huge underdog... are you all so soulless? This is the appeal of tournaments

Looking on the bright side, he can focus on MSL and get the golden mouse there!

OSL without JD.......... this is like dividing by zero, the earth will implode.
