Hey no one commented on this. Does it seem like a possibility I can get a high ranked player to be a co-coach? I don't want to hinder a team just because I'm not a super high level. At the same time though I thinking having a coach/helper at a level closer to the players could help a lot for practice games.

We will do what we can to even out the coach levels.

Not to be a pessimist since I signed up and all but how long do you think this will last? Because if you looked at the province/state league that kinda died out quickly too. =/ Although this is saddening its the obvious truth.... and ppl in other countries might possibly cause lag(not trying to be mean and having leagues that only include ppl in Canada/USA) and time zone problems?

I will personally murder everyone who drops out

Well, the time is set (2:00 PM EST) so people in Europe and American can both have a reasonable time. The teams themselves are separated by time zones so practice won't be a problem.

And one more thing

It looks like we're going to have 12 teams (unless more coaches sign up). Would it be better to have two groups of 6 teams and the top teams from both groups play or have one large group of 12 teams?

Poll: Divide up the teams into two groups?
(Vote): Yes (6 on each)
(Vote): No (One big group of 12 teams)

I think we should organize it something like the NHL since they do an awesome job with the setup. So for this it would be 2 groups of 6 teams. Group 1 would play against group 1 teams more, and Group 2 would play against group 2 teams more. And occasionally have group 1 teams play group 2 teams.
The groups should be divided by timezone, so like Group 1 could be West and Group 2 could be East. So that way we could reduce lag, and timezone differences. And at the end of the season, we should have like playoffs, where the top 3 teams from each group play a round robin tournament for their group, and then the winner from each round robin tournament from the groups play each other in the final.

Its sorta confusing but i'll use an example:

Group 1: Group: 2
Team 1 Team 7
Team 2 Team 8
Team 3 Team 9
Team 4 Team 10
Team 5 Team 11
Team 6 Team 12

Lets say after the season Team 1,2,and 3 are the top 3 in Group 1, and Team 7,8, and 9 are the top in Group 2. Group 1 will have a round robin, so it would be like:
1 vs 2
1 vs 3
2 vs 3

Group 2 would look like
7 vs 8
7 vs 9
8 vs 9

Lets say Team 1 and Team 7 win the round robins.
Then it would be Team 1 vs Team 7 for the grand finals.
For season and playoffs points it could be like:
Win = 2 points
Ace match Loss = 1 point
Lose = 0 points

Just a thought, cause I think it would work well with this league.

I don't think we should take Python. Most of the coaches who have spoken up don't want it, and they would be better able to teach their players on maps that they like to play.

I just registered an account on iCCup and had a couple of questions before trying to play on their servers. I'm at the option of adding their server to the server list by downloading a auto-reg file or their anti-hack software.

I'm leaning toward the former option as I'm hesitant on putting the anti-hack software on my computer as I don't know what it will do in the background. And since I'm guessing I would be around a D- I'm not worried about people having to hack against me to get a win.

I guess my question is by installing the normal auto-reg file offered, will I still be able to access Battle.net just as I have been? Is there anything else I should know about with using the iCCup servers?

Thanks for the help. I'm looking at using their servers to get some practice as I'm (hopefully) being tutored here. I haven't had too much success with finding "normal" games at Battle.net.

yeah, the .reg file only Add a new gateway. you still have the east, weest and asia gateway available.

The Anti-hack only run when you start it as a executable. It's not a service running all the time like PunkBuster ( or whatever it<s called for QuakeLive). So you can download the anti-hack with having any trouble with it.

I to be fair really like this idea it kind of expands on the norm and makes it bit more interesting but I guess it's up to the general consensus of people.

we could just divide the teams into 4 groups or so and do it like they do @ courage but with teams instead of individuals.

and loser brackets ofc

Thanks for the response. Does the anti-hack software stop automatically when you exit Starcraft or do you have to stop it manually?
