So i wasnt playing for a couple weeks, but today i decided is hightime to play some sc. I made some warmups than entered a game. I played a game, which ended up being 36 minutes, it was a ZvZ. My opponent gone for an allin +1 armor ling attack. He messed it up somehow and i could defend it. Than he opted for hydras. My mutas couldnt keep the hydracount down because of the +1 armor and the rapidly growing numbers. I tried everything mass expoing, mass sunkening, guardians even cracklings and other stuff and managed to take him out, but i think it was because he made too many mistakes. Any better zergs care to look over my rep and give me feedback? I think it could be entertaining to watch for some people...

Thank you, i'm so exausted after this, God...

While he's defending his base with hydra/spore, you expand. If he isn't defending his base with hydra/spore, just rape all his drones. You will have an economy advantage. Get +1 for your mutas and just snipe drones and hydra until he's ready for his assault. You should have enough muta to wipe it out just by the fact that you have more bases than him. If he's doing one base hydra, just get your nat and build sunkens when he comes to attack it. He won't be able to break it.

There was a thread recently discussing the validity of hydras in zvz. Many of its holes are talked about, and thus it might help you to read it. http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=92381

I think, any kind of change to hydra tech can be abused with mutalisks well.
It's worth it taking 4-5 shots for two drones
And all is illuminated.

You can also get lurkers which forces them to wait for speed on their overlords :O

I expand fast when I see hydras comming. First I make some mutas to keep him in his base then I expand(zvt style ). Then I go +1 armour for air and +1 attack for my lings. Make some drones while he is contained. Then mass muta/ling and maby add 1 more hatch if you have the money.

And snipe his drones when his hydras are not there to defend and you have enough mutas to not lose to much from it.

Thats how I play vs hydras. Or you can expand and then go for hydras yourself
I pwn noobs

harass him with muta and force him to make more spores and get lurks he will be delayed then I swith to hidra because of my better eco I have more haches and + 1 expo and dont forget upgrades I build 2 chambers

watched 10% of rep and can say your biggest mistake was to attack him with muta when you saw with your overlord his 3 hach allin chamber build.
you attack him but he had spores and you did nothing. then he had many +1 lings in middle to attack you, you lost all lings 3 sunks and more drones
if you would just stay at your base and defend his lings... probably then he would never attacked with those ling but you could just mass muta and dont let him expo because he was traped in his main
so after this fatal error you were behind and I stopped waching rep because have to go sleep

pickoff drones with muta micro, once you have enough mutas take out the area that has only 1 spore guarding it, then harass drones and remember to pickoff any attempts he makes to build another spore in that spot

Once he eventually defends your drone snipes, and you get a lot of mutas you can sometimes ignore spores or even some hydras and and just go for all his drones (this time just attack w/o microing back and forth)

(you wan't to keep the mindset that hurt mutalisks will regenerate in time for his attack anyway, and losing a few mutas is worth killing a bunch of drones)

dont bother getting a lot of lings, just expand a lot and get a ton of mutas you should have the economical advantage .. hopefully means your muta army is so big (and upgraded) that his attack will fail. if he doesnt attack at the normal timing of 2-2 and waits even longer, you can get dark swarm with lings, and plague

i would have most of your army be comprised of just a ton of mutas

ALSO
remember that when he pushes out you can immediately take all your mutas to his main and his spores wont do shit to defend, then fly away when he comes back to defend

if he doesnt defend and goes for the elimination race, you have the advantage with better mobility and more bases spread out

All ZvZ's are decided within the first 2-4minutes.

You should be able to secure 4 gases with 2 chokes, while keeping him to 2 bases. Sometimes if his upgrades get high enough, you'll want to switch to add Lurkers for defense. Obviously he won't have Overlord speed so that buys you a lot of time to flex your economy. I like switching over to HydraLurk while heading towards Defiler. Guardians are also an option once your two chokes are defended with Lurkers.

Use the mobility of Mutalisks in the beginning to keep him very defensive while you secure your initial bases. There does come a time where beating the Hydralisks ball with your Mutalisk ball isn't possible, and that's when I consider Lurkers and finally Defilers.

Mass muta ling. My friend taught me how to play ZvZ against hydra. Assuming my friend played hydra right, you should be able to have taken a couple bases, macro'd up and be on hive tech and at 200/200 by the time he moves out. Just make sure he isn't able to expand and what not. a mass muta ling army will own any mass hydra army.
