"Installer : Wrapper .CreateFile failed with error 3: The system cannot find the path specified." so now im completely pissed off because i can't get java, music from frostwire or play anything the requires java. my computer was then officially CRAP!!! the next time i get a laptop it will NOT be an acer. this is why i think acer is a piece of crap, this and a whole shit load of other problems that i've encountered over the short time that i have had my laptop. lol frostwire. My acer hate story is 2 stuck pixels on an acer monitor that wouldn't go away. It was especially terrible since they were in the middle of the screen.

Anyone who catches this thread: building a computer is considerably simpler than you might think. Doing your research and getting help from a knowledgeable friend will save you a lot of frustration, and if you shop in the right places (part of doing your research!), a lot of money as well.

I bought an Acer laptop on October 2009. When I first got it, it had a nvlddmkm.sys (Nvidia) blue screen. I ignored it at first but it got worse and worse (eventually happening every hour) in about a week and a half. I called Acer and got sent to their level 1 customer support (which is in India or something). They set me up to send it in for repairs. I get my laptop back 2 weeks later and see that they replaced the GPU. I immediately do a restoration to it and it blue screens (same blue screen) during process. And then continues to do so just like when I first got the laptop (all while at factory defaults with nothing installed and no internet access). I call Acer again and they set up for me to send it for repairs a 2nd time. I get my laptop back 2 weeks later and see that they replaced the GPU and RAM. Still blue screen like before, and I call them up again. Acer level 1 support redirects me to level 2 support this time. Acer level 2 support guy tells me they'll have me send it in for their special "engineer-level" support. I tell him I'm on vacation and can't send it for 2 weeks and he says it's fine and just send it then. So I do. 4 weeks after I send it in, it comes back. I had called Acer to check on the status on why it's taking so long and was told the engineer was replacing the motherboard, GPU, and RAM and testing it. When I got it back, the notes only said they replaced the GPU and RAM and did testing. I notice my laptop (which was brand new condition when I sent it in the 3rd time) had a bunch of nicks and cuts all over it. And when I removed the battery, I see a fat ass hole impacted into the chassis underneath. I call Acer and ask them about this. They tell me that the engineer replaced my lower chassis because it was damaged. I told them it was not damaged, and I asked them that if it was, why they would replace it with one that is also damaged. I also asked if the motherboard was replaced, they said no (so someone is lying to me). Acer then sets me up to send my laptop back in so they can evaluate the damage and see if it is cosmetic or crucial (they only fix it if they deem it not a cosmetic damage). I tell them that I already sent in the laptop 3 times and I haven't yet checked if the blue screen was gone. They tell me that's ok and to call them back if the blue screen is still there and I haven't shipped in my laptop for the chassis damage yet. I check my laptop right after I hang up. Instant blue screen within first hour. I call them back and Acer says they'll give me a replacement because this is an exceptional case. They tell me to wait 48 hours as they select a replacement laptop for me. 48 hours later, I get no phone call. So I call them. Acer tells me the guy who said I can get a replacement was not authorized to tell me that. I'm sick of their shit so I demand to talk to their highest authority so I can demand a replacement because I'm not gonna wait another 2-4 weeks so they can attempt to fix the problem again when they've failed the first 3 times (at this time, the laptop has been in shipping and repairs longer than in my hands). I get redirected to their highest authority after a long hour and a half hassle because she said I cannot talk to him. I talk to the guy and tell him my situation. He tells me he will get back to me in 24 hours and gives me his number. 24 hours later, he didn't call me. So I call him. He tells me that he looked into my situation. He tells my my case is not exceptional enough to warrant a replacement. I ask him what is exceptional enough. He tells me 3 repairs is. I ask him why 3 repairs and that I did send it in for 3 repairs. He tells me 3 repairs because of precedent of similar cases. He then explains to me that the first two times, they did not see a blue screen. But the third time, they did. So he had the galls to tell me that the first two repairs "did not count" (those exact words). And that I'd have to send it in for repairs "at least 2 more times" before they consider a replacement. That's at least 5 repairs (each taking 2 or 4 weeks for me to get my laptop back). What a piece of shit company. I talk to NewEgg about this. They were the ones who sold me the Acer laptop (NewEgg is one of Acer's certified sellers as they do not sell themselves, so they told me). I had contacted NewEgg about this problem when I first saw the blue screen and they told me to deal with it through Acer. NewEgg was another hurdle with two cases of the employees contradicting each other and one of the employees not being up to date on a new policy and giving me incorrect information, but I'm not gonna detail the problems and trash NewEgg, too, because it was them who eventually gave me a partial refund. So I lost $125 in the end and had an annoying 3+ months.
