Eh there are better ways for D- people to get better than getting mass raped on iccup. Ladders tend to promote solo playing especially at low levels like that. It's gonna be hard to find a real iccup team who can bring you under their wing. Much easier to find a team on battle.net with a similiar skill level that you can effectively practice with.

Congratulations on beating people who are likely still learning what each unit does, are there any preschools near where you live perhaps you should try your hand at physical combat next.

Yes it does....
If you are way better than someone you won`t use 20+ mins killing them unless you are fooling around or got crippled early or something. Its a reason every C+ or higher ranked players used to have <15 min and most <10min average game length in the D and D+ ranks when iccup still had that kind of stats.

Eh maybe after a certain level, but someone in the C's range may still take well over 15 minutes beating a D+ player, just because he may not be as solid in some skills as he may be in others.

Why would you need a team of other bad players to get better? Playing bad people is just gonna postpone your problems until you get better and start getting raped because you have huge issues with your play that you didn't realize, because you just played the same (bad) people. If improving fast is your goal, playing someone that is way better than you is always preferable to playing someone at your level.

Sure if they are not that far apart in skill the games will often last longer, however no C or above player will regularly use 20+ mins to beat D players with <50% winrates. So the time spent to win can give a good indication of skill level. Of course its no exact science, but more often than not they will spend shorter time beating people when the skill gap is big between them.

In a fighting game I'd agree with you but Starcraft is different and it's impossible to overcome a huge skill gap. Games that are totally one sided don't offer too much other than a benchmark to see where you stand compared to good people. Worse macro will lead to imbalanced fights, doesn't let you practice as much as a player closer to your skill level worse. The important thing is to just improve everygame. Replays are everywhere and they act as a textbook for broodwar. Proper application wotn happen vs someone 100x better than you though. Pretty even games with your opponant being just a little better than you should be the best way to improve.

Edit: The better you are the more you would be able to appreciate a difference in skill (a B iccup player would get more out of playing an A+ than a D- would get out of playing a C+) but low levels is brutal. A starting terran could lose to 1 or 2 zealots like 10 games straight. Not very much learned in all those loses =\

You played crappy people... Iccup 2;2 skill doesn't raise that dramatically as 1;1 though... I think last season my partner and I went like 20-0 before we lost a game I believe at the C/C+ rank it starts to get harder... depends on you and your partners skill level.

I'm not that great of a player, but I've never had any trouble getting to C rank 2v2 with my cousin, we could always get there with around 75% winrate. 2v2 up from D -> C is really easy, especially if you're playing pubs because it is really easy to pub game up through C rank and theres a high chance you'll get newb teams and totally own them if you have your own set ally.

Through D -> C it's possible to encounter some very strong teams along the way, some kors who are just starting for example that will give you a few losses, but really until you reach C rank 2v2 ladder is super easy

On my smurf account I just played 4 Ds in a row with over 300 apm.

It's all luck who you play at the D level. Actual D level players are bad, yes, but many D players are just people that started a new account or reset their stats, so u gotta watch out.

I noticed you played a few players that were 33-58? and so on. Damn, I was I was as cool as you. Don't flame those D- players. Hell it took you 20 minutes to beat them.

Congrats on your wins.

I guess.

On low ranks, people are as bad as they ever were on pgt and other ladders. They play more macro oriented now but they are not better. When you gain some ranks though, it's a different story.

Yeah man you are so tough. I bet CM would rape you if you played right now. Gauging from past LAN's, CM is at least C- or more. Do you know a player is 33-58 before you play them? No, you only see their points. Congrats on your faggot life, I guess.

And, 52 post self-righteous gaywad, most D players turtle like a mofo. It took Stork 1.3 HOURS to beat GGPlay. Turtling takes a lot of time to crack. Just shut up dude, trying to act tough here is stupid. Don't bash on TL old-timers either.

I feel like the low level ICCUP players are still better than other ladder players.

Hmm, I actually like Python as a 2v2 map. If you're complaining about base numbers...if you look at most maps designed for 2v2, they have just as many, or even less...

I like Python as a 2v2 map. I like how it's almost impossible to hold anything beyond your nat unless your team has map control. By forcing players out of their base the game becomes much more dynamic and interesting IMO
