In days past when I was serious about improving/ladder climbing I would log onto useast and play 1 or 2 play obs games to warm up my hands. The average skill in those games is , from my experience around c-, which to me is your average gamer, D+/C- are starcraft without the hardwork and dedication. CM, try and play iccup only on map of the week vs people you find in channel with no loses or very few, you'll notice when you can't place your first hat and lose a drone to a probe that there are some good players even at the lower ranks. | ||

However, I think that the amount of time it takes a person to kill another has a lot to do with style as much as anything else.. Although progamers can pretty much play every single style, so it's no problem for a great player to end games quickly when they get leads.. However, for those of us who mostly just play a safe style when they have the lead, the games may last a bit longer than those who play an aggressive style and invest their $$ in units rather than expansions. I'm kinda rambling here.. basically I almost always end games before the 15 min mark, but occasionally I'll play a newbie and he'll turtle off of two bases, and I'll wait until I'm maxed out before I attack.. | ||

I just played 3 games won them all and my second game never registered damnit.(still playing on my TSL-FuDDx account) Ive never been great with this game just have a great love for it.I am, however improving lately hopefully I can continue to improve. Even though I am an old fart I have dreams of being a pro one day. Laugh laugh..sc2 old timer pro. You heard it here first . I will be the oldest pro gamer to date. | ||

Is it really easier than other ladders? I've heard the exact opposite; that iccup is much more difficult to advance through than PGTour was and gets a bit more challenging every year. I'm only D+ but I would win 90% of my games if they were against true D/D- players. Games are very inconsistent at that level though- plenty of C level (or higher) players working their way up through most of the season. | ||

No, I'm not trying to brag or say that iccup is easy. I am just surprised that the skill level was so low on the D ranks. I had no idea. And obviously I haven't played enough games to pass a judgment except for the fact that some players are really really bad. PS- I don't know how any of you idiots took this as a brag blog, or Iccup is EZ, I'm the best player ever thread. Reading comprehension FTL. And if you read down towards the bottom I actually had some questions to follow up the post like : When can I expect to see some decent players? I'm currently 1650 points, I assume D+ is 2k, C is 3k, and so on. | ||

Fine. let me rephrase the amount of time you take to beat someone is not a GOOD representation of how good you are. Beating someone using 2 hatch hydra every game in 9-10 minutes doesn't show skill, just your ability to cheese. Lol. I got a PM from the original guy calling me a dumbass.
