We were poor at first. Neither one of us had any toys.
But you played with flies on the screen door with me.
You even found a paper cup in the street and we spent hours rolling it back and forth in the garage.
I remember when I was so excited when mom was finally able to buy me a new pair of shoes for kindergarten.
You chewed them to pieces. I was upset with you.
I cried.
And you licked every single tear from my face and then licked me until your mouth went dry.
When we lived behind the high school, so many kids would cut through our backyard.
You'd get so excited when you saw new people.
But they didn't know. They didn't know you couldn't hear them.
It was okay. When that boy yelled at you and you didn't listen, he hit the side of your face with a stick.
I jumped the fence and punched him in the mouth.
Did you think he deserved it? I bet you didn't.
You were the absolute sweetest.
I wish I could be more like you.
I cried again today after you died. You weren't there.
You couldn't get those tears off of my face.
But you would have. You would have.
And knowing that is the hardest thing.

I'm sorry to hear that man. I cried when we had to put my dog to sleep back in high school when she was only 2.5 due to some rare autoimmune disorder I truly pity people who have never experienced the pure joy of owning a dog.
Dogs are so awesome, and yet they're gone so soon.
Got any pics of happy times with him?

I've been wanting to own a dog myself and I'm really beginning to consider it after realizing how many people are able to have such a close relationship with their pet.
I'm really sorry to hear about your loss. I'm sure you've made many happy memories, though!

Sorry for your loss. Condolences. I've had several dogs die now (we always get ones nobody wants from the rescue centre) and it always hurts. I feel for you.

I really hope my older dog doesn't die soon... I would miss him so very much for the rest of my life. If only they could live at least twice as long as they do. T_T

i remember my wonderful siamese cat that was there ever since i was born, and he always slept in my bed with me and was always nice to me. one day when i was 15 i came home from my dad's house and my mom had put him to sleep T__T

Aww gee, I never had an animal that could be as good a friend as a dog, but I feel for you. It's sad when they die but it's always worth the times you have with them. :']

there is no loss that i fear more than that of my dog. perhaps it is simply my human weakness that i am often so troubled by life's lack of absolutes, but the one truth i've always held dear in the most private of my thoughts is the pure friendship i share with my dog. i truly believe i am who i am today because of a $300 investment that on the first day chewed on my shoelaces and slept in the palm of my hand.

dogs are some of the best friends any human can have. raising a dog truly is a life-changing experience, in the best way possible. for every lick of effort you put in to build the relationship, they'll always be willing to put in twice as much.

This really touched me, surprisingly. I've never owned a dog even though lately I've reallyyyy wanted one for some reason. I think a big reason was because I was scared of the pain of losing him/her eventually. I'm sorry dude ;(.

I parents got rid of my Hannah when I was about 11, I felt like someone had just punched me in the stomach as hard as they could, to be honest I didn't even know how to feel, I was too upset to even cry about it... if that makes any sense.
I don't think I'll ever get another pet because of it.

I feel you.
There was time time when my dog (Sophie) got sick, like really sick, she was really bad. She had eaten some posion and we all thought she was going to die, I couldn't believe how hard did it hit me. I cryed for hours just hugging her and all. She didn't die, but that day showed me that I love my dog more than I know, and I will always.
She's still with me, and I'm sorry to hear that yours is gone. Sounds like you were really close together.
I'm truly sorry for your loss.
