Today something very interesting happened to me when I was playing on ICCUP and I'm curious whether you've experienced something like this too.
I began todays ICCUP session with creating a new account for a fresh start and to practise TvP a bit. However, 5 games later, I had been proxy-gated three times and had been beaten by 2 base carriers two times and had dropped to D-. As you might suspect, spirits weren't very high. In fact, I was about to go overboard, when I decided to host one last game, a TvZ. I focused very hard and tried to convert my anger into useful energy and in the end, I managed to win. The real surprise however struck me, when I opened BWRepinfo and found out, that my average APM had risen to 370+ and my average EAPM to 170+. Never have I been that fast before (normally around 280/150).
Now, I think this has to do with the state of mind you're in, and how you manage your mental attitude towards the game. Anyone else ever experienced this?

I just get useless when I play angry, although I have noticed the few times I dropped down to d- my play went to hell too

he probably means that you dont scout (since you said you fail to detect proxies), so he could expand into your expo and get away with it

Well, as said before, 300+ APM don't save you from a dual proxy-gate, if you're absent minded enough not to scout it. Btw, did somebody already mention that Carriers are the gayest SC unit ever?
