Headed out to COEX mall with my brother today. Hung out there for a few hours until I got a phone call from my reporter friend again - and we decided to catch some dinner and then go watch the SK Telecom T1 vs Ace Air Force game at 6:30.
We are talking and laughing, have a good time and I was sitting with my back to the door. Just as we were finishing our meal, my reporter friend stood up to greet someone who had just walked in. I turn around and saw a regular guy and went to bow to him to be polite and as I looked up... *cue music* I see a god in a Air Force blue track suit. It was a slow-mo moment. He looked at me. I looked at him. He nodded to acknowledge my presence as I returned the favor. I quickly turned around and in awe whispered, "Is that..." as my reporter friend just quietly smiled and nodded. I felt the blood rush to my face and felt the heat in my body rise.
I knew I had to compose myself before going to talk to him. I took a deep breath and regained my composure as my reporter friend signaled me to come meet the man of my dreams. We made eye contact. I introduced myself and then even mentioned that I read his interview with TL a few years back with Mani. He remembered. As I went to ask him more questions... my phone rang. Had it not been an important call I would have said fuck it, but alas, it was.
I quickly ended my conversation on the phone but by then, it was too late. His coach had told us that we needed to go, he was to eat and then prepare, for he was playing the first set. Sorrowfully, I glanced at him - and noticed that he wanted to ask me something too. I told him that I'd see him again, and that we'd talk some other day and he nodded. We held our gaze a bit longer and then I left.
In the midst of that - I realized that I never got his picture! (or his number). But there's always the next time.. next time. Boxer will be mine.
At least I got pictures with Oov, July and HOT. ^_^
This is the best pic I got.. I'll get one with him on the 31st. Well, at least try to.
