A Beautiful Thank You
I am currently waiting in a hotel room in Las Vegas and will attend “Life Is Beautiful” in a few hours.

The picture does no justice but as I’m seeing the stage crew put together the entire event and finally seeing the outcome of how beautiful everything is, I can’t help but think of how beautiful the Starcraft community is too.
In the past few weeks that have gone by, they have certainly been life changing for me. I never thought in a million years that I would love writing about such a wonderful community that really helps and enjoys helping one another out.

In the time that I have been back, a few friends have been able to get me to contact a couple of my Starcraft II hero’s that I grew up watching, for a future article that I’m writing up. Not only have they encouraged me to engage more but I never realized just how humbling, amazing, and beautiful all of you are.

I left the community a little before “Heart of The Swarm” and a lot happened during that time. The story of me dropping Starcraft and the life events that occurred during that time are too long for me to write at the moment but I promise to eventually get that out when the time is right.
Before leaving, I made a promise to myself that I would keep in touch with a very great friend of mine, Matt. I met him through Starcraft because I sucked so bad against Zerg, still do, and decided that it would be a great idea to go into the main chat room asking to practice against a fellow Zerg player. Sure enough someone replied, we set up a match, won, got wonderful feedback, and thus a friendship was born.

Fast forward to a early August 2018. So much has changed in that duration of time, I was beginning to lose my sense of self and was going through a tough time in my life. I sat by myself in my car thinking, what grounded me? What made me feel good? What was it that made me feel real?
Then it hit me and I remembered, it was playing Starcraft with my friends, laughing, and helping each other grow. I did just that.

I do not play as much as I did back then but in the time span that I have allowed myself to play, it has been unimaginably beautiful. Not only did I start feeling real again but me and Matt started to play again which truly feels like old times. Funny enough a friend of my wife, who I also kept in touch with, played Starcraft as well and invited me into his community of fellow which in turn started my love of writing about Starcraft. Thank you Randy!

As I dust off my old Starcraft Terran jacket and wear it with much more pride, I just wanted to say thank you all and I truly hope the content that I write about through this publication will help you grow and aid you in your journey to become a better player.
Feel free to follow and get in touch with me if you too are a writer, player, pro-gamer, or anyone that enjoys writing about the on-goings of the Starcraft community.
