Sometimes I sit in front of my computer eating. Sometimes, I get bored while eating. I could watch a movie or a show, but sometimes I want something more... stimulating .
Assuming that my meal only requires one hand (sometimes it might require two, like a BIG sandwich), I wonder what games I could play with my non-eating hand.
Of course, turn-based games like Civilization, grand strategy games, and RPGs are good candidates since there is no intense real-time element to manage. City-building games like Simcity and Caesar III (and its derivatives) also make good relaxing games to play while eating, although they can get rather hectic as cities get larger and harder to manage, which might distract from my eating and thus may cause cold ramen. I also find Scribblenauts to be a nice one-handed game.
Nevertheless, writing a blog isn't going to stop this ramen from getting cold.

Starcraft 2 team games, 2x terran 1 base with 2 factories pumping hellions. Wins a surprising amount of games. We call it popcorn strats basically the same thing as one handed strats.

The Banner Saga: Factions is a decent free steam game. It's in it's early stages right now, but it's fun for a while.. It's a simple turn-based game against another player so you can even use two hands to eat with a small break to click around every little while.

...I mean something turn-based like online chess or checkers or some puzzle game where you're only making a few clicks but the vast majority of the "gameplay" is just thinking.

Anything that can be turn based (HoM&M, Civ, Paradox games) is a good choice most of the time.

Oh god I want to play that now...I remember pissing off my friend who would build epic rollercoasters by winning quickly just by price gouging customers on concessions etc.

I eat + watch things all the time. I don't understand needing something more stimulating while you eat, to be honest.

i'd rather concentrate on eating my food more quickly so i can get back to what i really want to do. eating while playing is pretty bad hygiene around computers (although common).
honestly, i just put up a twitch stream and play through whoever is streaming while i finish up some simple dinner if i'm bored.

I play sc2 team games when I'm eating stuff. You only need one hand to make an attack-move army.

Oh, also another nod to Faster Than Light. I suppose hotkeys might help you a bit, but you should be able to play it quite easily with a mouse. It's great fun too, I had to force myself to quit playing it T___T

I love this game, this is a STR but you don't control your units directly.
You build a town, and for instance a warrior guild, then the warriors will live then own life, fight monsters, level up, buy items at your bazaar, buy upgrades at your blacksmith, form parties at the tavern... All you can do is put bounties on certain objectives so you motivate your loyal subjects to accomplish it.
This seems easy enough but the game itself is pretty challenging (which is rare nowadays), even tho you can play it with just a mouse without problem as you don't control any unit.
