After years of struggling with my urge to begin collecting I have decided to accumulate the games I grew up on. I have roughly 70 games right now and plan on documenting my journey through finding them every week, or month or so....

Also if you are looking to possibly sell any you may have lying around let me know in PM or comment. I will pay obviously

I have about 15 more that are pending through ebay.

Also if you have a collection of your own let me know I may have some dupes of things soon and maybe we could start a trading thread as well

Can't really say much except you got a lot of the classics right there. Used to be pretty into collecting NES but after stopping in the early 2000s and seeing that nowadays the games are RIDICULOUSLY overpriced I can't stomach it. Gave most of my collection with dozens of CIB games to a friend who is prob within 20-30 of having the entire domestic NES library lol, every once in a while we meet up and have a game night and beat some random game no one has heard of.

Always be my most fond gaming memories along with BW : ]

Sit down with Dr Chaos btw and try to finish it with no faqs, its a great game.

I have the cart and box for Mega Man 1.

I also have the cart for Final Fantasy 1 (I believe I have the instructions somewhere, but not 100% sure on that).

I have the gold cart (aren't they all gold?) for Legend of Zelda.

I have no idea what, if anything, these are worth.

I have some others but those are probably the most popular ones.

Edit: Oh god Crystalis. Crystalis is amazing. Last NES game I ever bought. Best Zelda clone ever.

nah not all carts for zelda are gold.

price per game varies greatly depending on the condition and how rare it was. but a good rule of thumb is box + instructions = $$$

damn this thread gets me all nostolgic. i had a kick like this maybe 10 years ago.

I don't have a lot of the bigger name games yet because I'm focusing on some of more obscure ones first. But I am picking them up when I find them cheap. Ebay and what not seems to charge more for the big titles even though they aren't that rare

i vaguely remember playing crystalis a bunch as a kid. i think my brother has it.

base wars is fucking awesommeeeeeee. the normal mlb game is really good as well. cant think of the game name off hand

Man you are missing every Mega Man game!
I have 2 and 5 myself, both amazing.
As far as ones that are 'worth anything,' I have no idea what stuff is worth.

I do have 2 games that no one I know had ever heard of, one is called Space Shuttle and it's literally you go and do missions like NASA would do, and the other is Stanley: The Search for Dr. Livingston which is weird, buggy, but fun in its own way.

Edit: you're also missing the Dragon Quest/Warrior series!

Ah man NES games is like one of the best things to collect. Dammnnn. I'm currently collecting SNES games, but pretty poor. Hopefully this summer with a job I can buy many things!

I went ahead and added a list of games I am currently looking for just to add to the conversation. I know that a lot of the classics aren't present (Mega Man, Castlevanias, Zelda, Marios) but that is because I can get those whenever and although I want them, I would like to focus on the more interesting first.

Oh shi faxanadu. That game is so hard. The way the people blink when they talk always creeped me out.

I might still have our copy of Milon's Secret Castle, but I think we might have sold that one. I'll let you know when I get a chance to get back and see what is there.

I have Ice Hockey.. And I love blades of steel.. Just haven't found it yet.. Most sports games I can pick up for a dollar or two so I haven't really worried about them yet
