if you're allergic dog (dander) does that mean you are also allergic to dogs with hair and not fur?
also, out of curiosity, did you play in the mud and dirt a lot when you were a little kid?

1. Um I have no idea.
2. Not much.

No he is only allergic to the dander.
If you grow up around things you can frow allergic to them. That is often why when you visit places you aren't alletgic to wildlife indigenous of the area.
Edit: I am not saying growing up with dogs will make you allergic. I'm mostly speaking about pollen, if you grow up around a specific kind of pollen you will most likely be allergic to that type if any. It would be weird to find out you're allergic to something you've never been around before, although developing allergies can occur and should not be confused with a pre-exposure condition.

I remember that someone I knew in elementary school had like 50/needles? allergies and always talked about the needles. Don't want to feel your pain.

It isn't bad at all. They first don't even break skin but rather press different concentrated allergens into your back to test for allergies. The ones that come back positive aka a big red bump on your back, are then injected into you for further testing (allergy needles are much smaller and hurt much less than regular shots). I get quite queasy just watching horroc flicks with needles in them (that saw movie with the needle pit didn't cause this, but it sure did shock the shit out of me) and I couls handle the process easy. As someone finished with it I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a cure for their allergies.

I have a lot of allergies to both pollens and foods. I take a claritin everyday and feel decent, not perfect however. Good luck whatever treatment path you choose.

The last time I went to the Immunologist/Allergenist they did this, but as an allergy panel. Basically, they drew blood, then did all the work in the lab with exposing various allergens to my blood and checking if there was a reaction via antibody binding and whatnot. Was this not an option?

Huh, when I had my allergy test when I was little (like 8 or so IIRC) I don't remember it being nearly that bad. However, it sounds like your allergies are a lot worse than mine, and i only got stabbed in the forearm.

Wow, I had no idea they were that bad. Has this gotten steadily worse over time? I don't seem to remember them being this troublesome when we were roommates. I have to say I've been lucky because I don't have many things that give me allergy symptoms. I did go on a perscription nasal spray once and it was pretty fantastic.

Wtf, after two years you just randomly log onto TL and start reading my blogs?? Lol, you must be bored as fuck at work hahaha.
And that year was a really mild summer (2009 right?) and I was doing pretty good actually. Last summer I was completely miserable, you might remember those two weeks when I was just coughing like crazy at work. Was right before exams too, fml.

I had a similar test done when I was ~7 years old, from what I can recall there was a horrible, muggy hallway with sounds of crying and whining of children. Each one was bareback, and on the back there were... small scratches, in a neat lattice, and parents fanning the back so that the back won't sweat. Yeah. I was horrified. No matter, soon it was my turn and I went, and I don't remember much except small bits of pain and parents fanning my back afterwards. Don't remember music or other shit. I don't remember getting any special needles or long-term medication either.
I had a bunch of weird allergies and body reactions as child. I think I grew out of most of them, but I still have a very sensitive nasal system and any large changes in temperature or dusty environment will trigger a sneeze, then that aggravates the nasal system, then the whole day I sniff and sneeze. D=

Yes...yes I am. You are the one sharing your allergy issues with the TL community, I'm just expressing concern through a medium that I know you are an active member of. That and Alec has been playing a lot lately so my interest was re-peaked.
I do recall that you weren't a happy camper at work. That was not a nice summer for sure.

TL is in fact the ultimate cure for work boredom, after all you can only read Memory Alpha for so many hours. I gave up on Facebook a long time ago, everyone just uses it to post memes now. It's become like Reddit without the quality control of people downvoting shit.
And it'd be nice if you guys could get better at SC2, It's boring constantly steam rolling you two.

0/5, that song is awesome.

For those of you unaware, to start treating allergies they first have to figure out what you're actually allergic to. To do this, they basically inject your skin with all different types of allergens and see what your skin reacts to. And when I say react to, I mean the spot on your skin becomes a giant inflamed bump with hurts and itches to no end. Fun, I know.
I had that too, I don't remember it being that bad tho? I am allergic to mite. Before I knew what it was I would have plenty of nights where I couldn't breath properly. But now I got like anti mite stuff so it's all good.

I'm guessing that how bad it is really depends on how allergic you are to the injections. The results I got basically said I'm moderately to severely allergic to everything, with the single exception of feathers. So basically I have a pretty major allergic reaction to almost everything they injected me with, lol.

Allergies certainly ruined my childhood... Summers for me were = to sit inside and live or go out and get fucked up...

Hope the meds help you out, Toast! + Show Spoiler +Though I was expecting a punch line at the end where they found out you were allergic to ALL of the things they pricked you with.

So how did it go? Went through your blog after you mentioned your history of gaming blogs and also stumbled on this.
Are you feeling better now despite your allergies? You didn't follow up or anything so
